Chapter 54-Panic

Gary managed to catch up with Ji Hyo at the entrance of the hospital, and countless tears were rolling down her cheeks.

"Ji Hyo ah," Gary grabbed Ji Hyo's arm.

"Get away from me," Ji Hyo broke free from Gary's grip.

"Wae? It's not your fault, it's Nick and Eun Hye's fault!" Gary explained.

"It is!" Ji Hyo screamed. "It was because of me that all of this happened! If something bad happens to Jae Suk oppa, I wouldn't forgive myself!" Ji Hyo kneeled down on the floor, crying.

"It's not your fault," Gary gently caressed Ji Hyo's hair lovingly.

"I shouldn't have trusted Nick! I can't believe I was so smitten with him since that day.." Memories of their date came back flooding Ji Hyo's mind as she continued to sob.

Gary became silent and Ji Hyo told him that she was going home and being kind, Gary offered to send her home, which Ji Hyo reluctantly accept.

Ji Hyo was exhausted and fell asleep in Gary's car, right beside him.

"She looks so gorgeous even when she sleeps," Gary thought to himself while driving.

Gary came out with an idea for Ji Hyo, and quickly changed his destination.

Upon reaching the destination, he gently woke Ji Hyo up.

"Oh? Why did you bring me here?" Ji Hyo was awake, and heard sounds of crashing waves. She was greeted by the clear blue sea, and the moon was reflected in the waters, with the stars shining brightly in the sky. 

"Let's rest here," Gary suggested as he opened the door for Ji Hyo, just like a gentleman.

"Okay," Ji Hyo agreed hesitantly and stepped out of the car. She was actually glad that Gary had brought her to the beach, instead of her house, where she would have been all alone by herself.

Ji Hyo sat beside Gary, as tension arose between them. Ji Hyo then sighed all of a sudden.

"What's wrong?" Gary asked caringly.

"Nothing," Ji Hyo looked away as she felt like crying. She was still somewhat mad at Gary for kissing Eun Hye.

As if Gary had just read her mind, he said," By the way, I just want you to know that Eun Hye was the one who initiated the kiss, I wanted to stay away from her, but she was hugging me tightly."

"Whatever, I just want to spend sometime alone," Ji Hyo stood up and began strolling near the strong waves, with her shoes in her hands.

Ji Hyo felt the strong wind of the beautiful night blowing at her, as she stood in the cold and clear waters.

Suddenly, she felt a pair of arms wrapped around her waist and was surprised.

'Ji Hyo ah, mianae. You've suffered too much,' Gary pulled Ji Hyo closer to her.

'Oppa, I need some time to sort out my feelings, is it okay?' Ji Hyo wrapped her arms around Gary's arms.

Feeling exasperated, Gary agreed reluctantly. The scene of their hug was very romantic and they admired the sky without any words.

'Why can't you give me a definite answer? Is it that hard?' Gary was tired.

'Yes,' Ji Hyo mumbled.

After an hour, Gary drove Ji Hyo home safely and both of them finally got home just after midnight.

After taking a shower, both of them fell asleep in the blink of an eye at almost the same time at their respective homes.

The day after, Ji Hyo woke up and checked her phone. It was around 1pm and fortunately for her, she had no schedule on that day.

Out of boredom, Ji Hyo began read recent news and eventually scrolled down to an article with the largest headlines she had ever seen.

'Breaking News:
Singer Nick and Actress Yoon Eun Hye arrested after being found out involved in a bombing case and other countless scams.'

Ji Hyo gasped in shock and called the other running man members for a meet up in Haha's restaurant, other than Gary, to prevent awkwardness.

(At Haha's restaurant...)

Ji Hyo was the last to arrive and was appalled by Gary's presence. She saw solemn expressions on Haha, Jong Kook, Kwang Soo and Gary's faces, especially Gary. Their eyebrows were knotted in frustration. But unlike last time, Ji Hyo and the others had actually wore black together.

'Can't.. believe that ... Nick and Eun Hye got arrested...,' Ji Hyo stumbled over her words as she placed her black leather handbag on her lap.

'I have something to announce. Not only that, Jae Suk hyung might become a vegetable,' Haha took off his sunglasses.

'Oh my god,' everyone started to exchange words frantically and glanced at one another.

The running man members were then all in a state of panic.
