Chapter 50-The Slap

Ji Hyo's fingers flew across the keypad on her phone as she agreed to Nick's invitation.

To: Nicky (Ji Hyo's nickname for him)

Sure, why not?

By the way, Eun Ji has left the country and moved to the United States to study abroad. She says bye to all of you, please tell the others!

Also, Ji Hyo was surprised by the news, and had frantically informed the other members about it before dozing off to sleep in the cab.

Halfway through the journey, Ji Hyo was woken up by a beep of her phone, which meant that she had received a text.

She was so flabbergasted by the sender of the text, she read it over and over carefully. It was none other than flower boy, the Enthusiastic Joong Ki.

To: Ji Hyo

Noona!! How have you been recently? I have just returned from Australia as I have finished some business over there in my dad's company. :)

From: Joong Ki


Feeling thrilled because of the fact that Joong Ki had returned to Korea, Ji Hyo immediately gave him a call.

"Joong Ki ah?" Ji Hyo spoke as Joong Ki picked up the call.

"Yea, noona. How are you and Gary hyung?" Joong Ki chuckled.

"Not quite right, he's in the hospital now," Ji Hyo's voice trailed off.

"Omo, what happened to him?" Joong Ki was worried too.

Ji Hyo realised that Cafe X was near the hospital that Gary was residing in and that she still had around an hour to spare, so she asked Joong Ki to meet her in the hospital.

"Okay. See you later, Ji Hyo noona!" Joong Ki was eager to meet Ji Hyo.

Soon, Ji Hyo had reached the hospital with a cheerful heart. She discovered that Joong Ki wasn't there yet and decided to call Nick first.

"Nick?" Ji Hyo said over the phone.

"Yea, our meeting is an hour later, right?" Nick asked.

"Yeah," Ji Hyo reassured him.

"Where are you now?" Nick questioned.

"In the hospital, outside Gary oppa's room. Wae?" Ji Hyo spoke.

"Nah, I'm just concerned about you. By the way, can you go check on my friend in ward 14B? He just got admitted into the hospital and I'm currently busy," Nick stammered.

"Umm, okay?" Ji Hyo was startled by Nick's sudden request and was suspicious.

After their conversation ended, Ji Hyo trudged to Nick's friend's ward to check on him. Just then, a nurse approached Ji Hyo.

"May I help you?" the nurse had a broad smile on her face.

"Yeah, I'm here to check on my friend's friend in ward 14B?" Ji Hyo dived straight into the main point.

"Sorry, but ward 14B is currently empty," the nurse answered.

"What? Are you sure?" Ji Hyo couldn't believe the nurse's words.

"Yes, I'm sure," the nurse replied kindly.

"Sorry to disturb you," Ji Hyo left hurriedly.

Feeling embarrassed by what just happened, Ji Hyo quickly gave Nick a call. But after several attempts, she couldn't reach him.

"He must be unavailable," Ji Hyo thought, with her phone in her hands.

Knowing that Joong Ki hasn't arrived yet, Ji Hyo decided to visit Gary first.

As Ji Hyo opened the door, she was over the moon as the couple hadn't seen each other in ages. She also decided to clarify what happened between Nick and her in the restaurant.

"Creak.." the door opened as Ji Hyo entered.

What took place before Ji Hyo was unbelievable. In fact, she was enraged. Without letting Gary to explain, Ji Hyo gave a harsh slap to Gary.

A tear escaped her eye as she left the room hastily.
