Chapter 37-A Surprising Decision

"Hi," Nick bowed at Ji Hyo and Gary, but only gazed at Ji Hyo.

"Omo," Ji Hyo muttered to herself, avoiding Nick's gaze.

"Take a seat next to me," Mr Song (Ji Hyo's dad) shifted himself on the couch.

"Yea," Nick hurriedly sat down.

"So, as I was saying.. Please clear the Running Man viewers' doubts and tell everyone you two are indeed not together," Mr Song informed.

After hearing that, Nick couldn't control himself and beamed, knowing that he now has a chance to be Ji Hyo's boyfriend.

"I cannot take this anymore!" Ji Hyo complained and held Gary's hand, taking him by surprise. "He's my boyfriend, Kang Gary," both of them stood up, Ji Hyo feeling delighted while Gary was appalled.

"But you said to tell him later," Gary whispered softly to Ji Hyo.

Ji Hyo's outburst also took Mr Song and Nick by surprise, leaving both of them silent.

After absorbing Ji Hyo's words, her dad slammed the table furiously, which startled the rest.

"Him?" Mr Song pointed to Gary. "Is this a joke? He's so chuhan and furthermore, he's a rapper! I actually wanted to matchmake you with this handsome young man." Mr Song gestured at Nick as he continued his words. "And I forbid you to date him!" Nick couldn't help but smile.

"Appa!" At this moment, Ji Hyo's phone beeped again.

"If you insist on going out with him, then you're not fit to my daughter anymore!" Mr Song bellowed.

'Fine!' Ji Hyo could not take it anymore. In a flash, she pulled Gary with her and left the room hastily, with tears on her face.

Soon, they were in Gary's car and everything was silent.

'Ji Hyo ah, maybe you should go talk to your dad again and clear this up. What's so bad about being a rapper?' Gary paused and sighed. 'And I really don't want the both of you to be like this because of me,' Gary broke the awkward silence.

'Let's not talk about this first,' Ji Hyo turned to look at Gary. She then took out the letter from Suk Jin and handed it over to Gary. 'Suk Jin oppa sent me this letter,' Ji Hyo explained.

As Gary was reading the letter over and over again, Ji Hyo checked her phone. She realised that there were two texts, one from Nick, and one from Eun Ji.

From: Nick
To: Ji Hyo

I'm so glad I was recruited to be your bodyguard. I'm going to talk to your dad now. Love you. :) Do you love me?

Ji Hyo was irked by the first text and looked at the second one.

From: Eun Ji
To: Ji Hyo

Ji Hyo eonni, where are you? Please come to the hospital now at Haha oppa's ward. I have an announcement to make.

From: Ji Hyo
To: Eun Ji

Ok, Gary and I will come now. I have something to tell everyone too.

Ji Hyo quickly informed Gary to drive to the hospital now and told him about the texts.

'Ehh, that Nick. What if you really fall in love with him?' Gary teased.

'No, Gary oppa, I only love you!' Ji Hyo pecked on Gary's cheek, causing him to blush.

'I love you too,' said Gary as he passed the letter back to Ji Hyo.

'So, were you able to solve the riddle?' Ji Hyo asked, placing the letter back into her pocket.

'Not yet, but I think that we might be thinking too hard. Maybe it's very simple,' Gary drove the car to the right.

Soon, they arrived shortly at the hospital. Ji Hyo and Gary got out of the car, holding hands as they waited patiently for the elevator.

Out of the blue, Gary told Ji Hyo that he had left something in the car and said that he would go up later, leaving Ji Hyo alone.

Ji Hyo immediately felt suspicious and boarded the elevator which arrived. Reaching level six, Ji Hyo quickened her footsteps and headed to Haha's ward.

She then entered the ward, which were filled with people and chatter. Haha, Jae Suk, Jong Kook, Eun Ji and Eun Hye were in the ward, waiting for the Monday Couple.

Ji Hyo caught Eun Hye grinning at her and she immediately felt like hitting Eun Hye.

'Ji Hyo ah, what took you so long? Where's Gary?' Jae Suk asked.

To save time, Ji Hyo decided to only answer second question, 'He's coming. So Eun Ji, what's the announcement?'

Everyone could sense that Ji Hyo was impatient and decided to remain quiet.

'I've decided to be Kwang Soo's psychiatrist,' Eun Ji announced, which was followed by the gasps of the rest.
