"Don't go after him," Nick grabbed Ji Hyo's arm as if he knew she was going to chase after Gary.
Ji Hyo glared at Nick, with no intentions of running after Gary as she was sure that she wouldn't manage to catch up with him. Instead, she called Jae Suk and told him that he saw Gary in the restaurant.
"Smart choice," Nick was glad about Ji Hyo's decision.
Ji Hyo was worried about Gary. "What if he did something silly?" Ji Hyo thought.
Nick comforted Ji Hyo and also texted someone secretly under the table, without Ji Hyo noticing.
After the dinner, Nick and Ji Hyo prepared to leave the restaurant. Just as they reached the entrance, a gush of transparent liquid was poured out from above, right on Nick's pants and Ji Hyo's skirt was smeared too. Luckily, the liquid didn't reach their skin.
"What?" Ji Hyo was frightened and immediately clung on to Nick's arm, as both of them looked up.
"Ji Hyo? Are you okay? It might be some sort of acid," Nick deduced, observing the mysterious liquid.
'Omo, how did you know? Who would do that?' Ji Hyo was shocked. Nick quickly took out a blue napkin and wiped off the acid on Ji Hyo's dress and some on his pants.
"I.. I majored in Chemistry in university," Nick stuttered a little.
'Thanks,' Ji Hyo's heart was beating wildly.
'No problem,' Nick did his usual smile, which again, made Ji Hyo's heart flutter a little.
After escorting Ji Hyo home and ensuring that she was fine, Nick then went to Eun Hye's house.
"Good job," Eun Hye complimented Nick as both of them sat down on a red velvet sofa.
"It was no big deal, Ji Hyo was totally mesmerized by me. Now she thinks I'm her hero," Nick boasted.
"Uh-huh, it was part of the plan. Anyway, most of the credit goes to me, okay? Firstly, I thought of the plan. And secondly, I was at the rooftop pouring the acid down," Eun Hye grinned.
"Water-" Nick was interrupted and was flustered.
"Whatever. Anyway, we were lucky that my father allowed me to do that," Eun Hye clapped.
"Yeah, because he's the boss," Nick commented.
(The next day, in Ji Hyo's room...)
Ji Hyo was still sleeping, although the alarm clock was ringing incessantly. The running man members were supposed to meet at 11am, but it was now 10.30 am and Ji Hyo was still in deep sleep.
Her phone beeped all of a sudden, and Ji Hyo picked up the call.
"Hello?" Ji Hyo yawned.
"Ayy, I knew you were still sleeping," It was Jae Suk.
"Why?" Ji Hyo had forgotten about their meeting for a moment.
"We are having the meeting later at xxx restaurant. Didn't Jong Kook tell you?" Jae Suk replied.
"Oh yea!" Ji Hyo realised. "I'll get ready and leave," Ji Hyo hung up and rubbed her eyes. She then went to take a quick shower.
Knowing that the meeting was going to be solemn, Ji Hyo had put on a black dotted dress in a rush, with a hat, to complement her outfit.
Before long, she had arrived at xxx restaurant. From the outside, she could hear it was boisterous. She checked her watch and realized that it was already 11.10am. Laughter and noise filled the place as everyone were chatting amongst themselves.
"Hi," Ji Hyo greeted her friends. Ji Hyo was surprised to see Kwang Soo in the restaurant.
All eyes landed on Ji Hyo and soon, they burst out laughing. Everyone was amused.
"What?" Ji Hyo was in a state of confusion, as she took off her hat.
"Nice outfit," Haha snickered.
"Ji Hyo ah, why did you wear such an outfit? It doesn't suit you," Jae Suk also giggled uncontrollably.
"Ji Hyo yah, Kwang Soo is fine now!" Haha cheered and changed the subject.
"Yeah, hi Ji Hyo noona!" I apologise for my actions the last time," Kwang Soo gave Ji Hyo a hug.
"It's okay. It's not your fault anyway," Ji Hyo was relieved that Kwang Soo was finally out of the mental hospital.
Ji Hyo quickly scanned her surroundings and was embarrassed, they were wearing either jeans or just a plain shirt, and no one wore black. She also realized that Gary wasn't there, and she was a little disappointed. Still, she was relieved that Eun Hye wasn't present.
"Oh," she blurted out.
"Come take a seat," Jong Kook signalled Ji Hyo to sit next to him.
Reluctantly, Ji Hyo did. She still thought that Jong Kook was on Eun Hye's side. Currently, Nick was in her good books after yesterday's date.
Abruptly, the place was filled with quietness, as everyone were speechless.
"How's Gary?" Ji Hyo asked, worried about her Monday Boyfriend.
"He's fine and resting in the hospital," Jong Kook responded.
"So, we are all gathered here today, also to discuss about the letter that Ji Hyo had received," Jong Kook continued.
"Let's get to the main point," Haha was feeling restless.
"I think the letter might be referring to Jae Suk hyung," Jong Kook declared, leaving everyone, especially Jae Suk, in bewilderment.
