"Oppa, actually my mother was killed by a rapper..." Ji Hyo forced the words out of her mouth.
"What...A r..rapper?" Gary was taken aback.
"My mom died when I was six, and that incident has affected my
father pretty badly... However, the murderer was never caught..." Ji Hyo muttered under her breath."Huh? That doesn't make sense... How did your mother die?" Gary leaned forward.
"She was ran over by a vehicle... The murderer had ran away... And the vehicle was filled with hip-hop caps , gold chains and lyric sheets filled with rapping songs... So the police deduced that it was a rapper...But now come to think of it.. With such ambiguous hints, the murderer might not be a rapper," Ji Hyo coughed abruptly.
"Given all those clues, couldn't the police find out who the killer was?" Gary replied.
"The police at that time gave the case up in the matter of three days after not being able to find any evidence... For some reason, the culprit did not even leave behind any fingerprints or clues.... The police at that time were also lazy and inexperienced and couldn't bother to solve the case!' Ji Hyo clenched her fists.
"The murderer must be experienced... If only I could help Ji Hyo find the culprit..." Gary thought.
"It must have been hard on you, Ji Hyo ah..." Gary's eyes filled with tears.
"Oppa... My only wish now is for you to get out of here... I hope you forgive my father..." Ji Hyo held herself back from crying.
"I didn't even blame him from the start, Ji Hyo ah," Gary reassured her.
"Miss Song, your time is up. Please leave now," the warden said all of a sudden.
"I guess I have to go now. Don't worry, I'll get you out of here as soon as possible," Ji Hyo stood up reluctantly.
"I'll be waiting," Gary smiled with much reluctance too.
It was a sad farewell.
Ji Hyo quickened her footsteps and finally met her friends.
"Oh, Ji Hyo ah. I have some good news. The police said that if they can't find any concrete evidence which shows that he was the culprit, he will be released very soon. By the way, how's Gary?" Jae Suk asked.
"That's great. He's fine. Guys, I am exhausted... I'll be going off first. Oh, where's Haha oppa?" Ji Hyo realized.
"He left again, I don't know what's going on with that kid. Ji Hyo ah, I'll send you home," Jong Kook volunteered.
"I'll go with Ji Hyo noona," Joong Ki stepped out.
"Guys, it's alright. I'm really tired now and I need some time alone. See you guys at the next filming," Ji Hyo left hastily.
Everyone unwillingly went home after bidding one another goodbye, all worried about Ji Hyo's condition and Gary, who was detained, at the same time.
On her way home, Ji Hyo turned on the radio and Leesang's top hit "Turn off the TV" was playing. Ji Hyo sang her favourite song out and decided that she had to do something for Gary who was innocent.
Listening to Gary's sweet voice, Ji Hyo couldn't help but miss her loved one.
In her mind, Ji Hyo recounted what had happened and couldn't believe she tried to harm the others. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stepped onto the vehicle's accelerator.
Not long later, Ji Hyo met with a friend of hers and both of them went to somewhere.
(At J apartments...)
Ji Hyo thanked her friend for his help and her friend had left.
Although it was illegal, Ji Hyo lied to her friend that she was locked out of her apartment and asked him to break open an apartment which did not belong to hers.
It was Eun Hye's apartment.
As Ji Hyo entered the house which was filled with the scent of wood furniture, she knew that she had just committed a crime of trespassing.
Regardless, she did not back out. Ji Hyo spotted several hourglasses on a few shelves and several weird instruments that were such as a pendulum and some psychology books.
'I'm here to find clues about Eun Hye so that I can stop her from all her wrongdoings. And hopefully, save Gary...' Ji Hyo thought, as she was all out to save her boyfriend.
Ji Hyo wandered around the house, scrutinizing its interior, before stepping into Eun Hye's study room.
She rummaged through the stacks of paper and found a suspicious photo.
In the picture, there was Eun Ji and Eun Hye who were in graduation costumes. But what caught Ji Hyo's attention was that a man who looked like a professor was next to them, and that the three of them looked as if they were very close-knitted.
"He looks familiar..." Ji Hyo thought to herself.
She continued to search through Eun Hye's items and even read through her diary.
On Eun Hye's calendar, Ji Hyo saw random dates being circled, such as today. Ji Hyo made a guess that it was the days when Eun Hye was about the execute her plans.
"But what were her plans?" Ji Hyo was flustered.
Casually, she browsed through all the circled dates and realized the next one being circled was exactly next week. She was so concentrated in searching for clues as to what Eun Hye will be up to such that it was way past midnight.
"Creak..." Ji Hyo heard sounds from the living room and realized that Eun Hye was back home. Instinctively, she hid under one of Eun Hye's large desk, but had unfortunately accidentally dropped one of Eun Hye's files which were in her hands out of shock, which had made a loud sound.
"What's that?" Eun Hye's voice could be heard from the living room. "Haha oppa, please take a seat, I'll go check out the noise."
'Haha oppa? Am I hearing things?' Ji Hyo was bewildered.
12:13am.
Ji Hyo glanced at her watch and blamed herself for staying at Eun Hye's house till midnight.
Not long later, the door to the study room opened.
"I'm busted," Ji Hyo widened her eyes and clasped her hand over her mouth to prevent herself from making any noise.
