Chapter 53-The Truth

Upon reaching the hospital, everyone was frantically looking for Jae Suk's wife. And surprisingly, Nick was just next to her. There were deep cuts and bruises all over her face and arms. On top of that, she looked very weak and tired.

After everyone had gathered, Jae Suk's wife began tearing up and said, "I just returned to Korea as I wanted to surprise Jae Suk..  and then this happened... you explain." She told Nick, without even looking at him.

Eveyone immediately looked at the silent Nick, expecting him to say something.

"Nick, why are you here?" Ji Hyo asked, with a mong look on her face as usual.

"Well, the truth is that the note you guys had received was referring to this," Everyone was currently dumbfounded. "Jae Suk hyung was going back to his house to pack his things and go to Kwang Soo's house. Let me begin from the start," he paused. "Actually last time, Jae Suk hyung dropped his phone while filming Running Man-"

"Yeah, I remember, that was about a year ago. He was very anxious, until Suk Jin hyung returned it to him the next day," Haha interrupted as the others nodded in agreement.

"Yes, you're right. At that time, Suk Jin already resented Ji Hyo's father-," Nick and Ji Hyo's eyes met briefly.

"-and then he took this wonderful opportunity and installed a bomb and a tracker in Jae Suk hyung's phone before returning it to him the day after. He decided to implicate the other members, which was you guys. It was like a back-up plan in case anything bad happened to him," Nick sighed as the others were shocked.

"Oh my god, so the note meant that there was a bomb in Jae Suk hyung's phone?" Jong Kook's eyes widened as he only managed to decipher it successfully now.

"Yes," Nick nodded. "After Suk Jin hyung got jailed, Eun Hye and... I... decided.. to assist Suk Jin hyung in his plan.. I really do regret it now..." Nick stuttered.

Enraged, Jong Kook gave Nick a swift punch and was being dragged aside by the others. At this point, Jae Suk's wife cried even louder and Ji Hyo went to comfort her.

"I deserved that," Nick mumbled and his mouth started to bleed.

"Yah, continue!" Kwang Soo demanded.

Just then Gary arrived, and was shocked by what was happening. Ji Hyo started acting awkward and kept a far distance away from Gary.

"So, the bomb activator was handed over to Eun Hye. About a few hours ago, Eun Hye decided to visit Jae Suk hyung and asked me to activate the bomb when she calls," Nick looked down with guilt.

"You rascal!" Jong Kook wanted to punch him again, but was stopped by the rest.

"When Eun Hye and Jae Suk hyung were in the house chatting, Jae Suk hyung's wife arrived at the void deck of the house and gave a call to Jae Suk hyung. He asked Eun Hye to wait at his house and went downstairs to help his wife unload her luggage. Amongst all this, Eun Hye called me and asked me to get ready to bomb the house when she texts me afterwards," Nick paused.

"-at that point, I was guilty of what I had done. I suddenly regretted and realized I had done wrongly. Eun Hye and I were the ones who attempted to separate Gary and Ji Hyo," he confessed, which surprised everyone. The Monday Couple shifted uncomfortably and looked at each other.

"I was so angry and I..." Nick suddenly cried.

"Go on!" Gary shouted.

"I didn't think through it carefully.. and... I activated... the bomb," He buried his head in his arms and cried tears of shame. Nick's hands began to tremble.

"Omo!" Ji Hyo spoke.

"Jae Suk shielded me from the impact, and he sustained serious injuries... Almost everyone in the building perished in that fire... Luckily the building didn't collapse on us... What's the point of regretting now?  And all this happened because of you and that darned Eun Hye!" Jae Suk's wife screamed at the top of her lungs and began hitting Nick with all her force.

"Joesonghabnida.. I felt remorseful because I realized I really fell deeply in love with Ji Hyo... " Nick's eyes was filled was love as he stared at Ji Hyo. And I just wanted to kill Eun Hye! It was all her fault! That's why I detonated the bomb! She was the one who manipulated me... Serves her right! She's currently being operated now," Nick refused to admit his mistakes, which made the others find this maddening. He kneeled down in front of Ji Hyo, with his head hung low.

Ji Hyo was mixed with different emotions, and couldn't believe what had just happened. In a fury, she slapped Nick with all her might and fled the hospital.

"Go chase after her! Go!" Haha pushed Gary and Gary did as he was told.
