|Just Go Talk to Her|

I watch her, as she pushes her glasses farther up her nose and brushes her long hair behind her ear, smudging the lead of her pencil, that was on her fingertips onto her cheek, before burying her face back into her sketch book.

She's the type of girl opposite of me, she goes unnoticed by everyone, she's quiet, and doesn't talk to anyone. Wheres I'm the type of guy who gets everyones attention, no matter what I do, I have a giant amount of 'friends' (only four of them being true friends) and I'm the type of guy to speak out and make jokes.

I normally have no problem getting girls except for when it comes to her. I've never had the guts to approach her, I just watch from afar, the thought of talking to her and getting to know brings an anxious feeling in my stomach.

Knowing she'd probably reject me.

If she did reject me I wouldn't be surprised, I mean some of the rumors that go around school about me are quite harsh and make me seem like someone I'm not. But if she's heard them; which I'm pretty sure she has, I wouldn't blame her for not wanting to talk to me, or not wanting to have anything to do with me.

Her head raises from her book and she scans the room, and I quickly advert my gaze before her eyes get the chance to meet mine. Moments later I look back over at her, to see her chair is empty. I see kids filing out of the room and I stand up.

I didn't even hear the bell ring.

"Mr. Mahone, may I have a word with you?" Ms. Bell asks before I leave the room.

"Sure" I nod and walk towards her.

"I've been noticing that you've been getting distracted in class a lot lately, and I wanted to know if everythings alright"

"Yeah, everthings fine. Just have a lot on my mind that's all" I shrug.

"Okay, well do you need me to move your seat?"

"No, I'm fine honestly" I say quickly, not wanting her to move my seat. It gives me the perfect view of her.

"Okay, well have a good rest of the day" She hands me a pass to my next class and I leave the classroom.

:::

Lunch. The greatest part of the day, I make my way to the cafeteria, when I make it to the bottom floor, a tiny body crashes into mine, and I look down, to see no one's there. However, there's chocolate milk on my shirt.

"What the fuck?" I whisper to myself, zipping up my jacket and continue to walk to cafeteria.

"Hey man you missed it! Sam poured milk all over that weird art chick" Robert laughs, and my mind snaps to her, she must have been the one who ran into me in the hallway.

"Why'd he do that?" I ask, trying to hide the anger in my tone.

"Because she's a freak" Sam chimes in, sitting across from me.

"How would you know? Have you ever talked to her?" I say my fist clenching.

"Why the fuck are you getting so defensive?" He spits and I shake my head.

I stand up from the table and leave the cafeteria, I walk in the quiet hallways, until I hear the faint sound of sniffles. I walk closer to the noise, and see her, sitting down, drawing in her sketch book, wiping her lead covered nose.
