Chapter 4 - Mazhi kutty ma!!!

Vijay was looking at Kavitha's bag for past 15 minutes.He had a dilemma whether to open her bag or not. The reason he had was justified, he had to get the baby's cloth.Yet he had no courage to open her bag. Thankfully the baby was with his sister and his mother.

His sister had given a bath to the baby so she asked him to bring a set of clothes from Kavitha's bag which was kept his room. Atlast he decided to open the bag. The first thing he noticed when he opened the bag was a folder.
May be the curious mind or the police mind, he opened the folder and looked through the papers.

'Not a bad idea to open this bag. I had got some basic information to help her', Vijay thought.He set aside the folder and looked in to the bag and got another folder. This folder contained some property documents and some cash.To fish out some other information he looked into the bag again but he was disturbed by the loud crying.

He hastily took the clothes for the baby Mazhilini and went out. He learned the baby's name as Mazhilini and the woman's name as Kavitha from the papers in the folders.He went to his sister's room and took the crying baby from her sister.Like the last day the baby put her hands around his neck and kept her head on his shoulder.Vijay smiled and patted her back.

"Mazhi kutty ma", he said and the baby responded immediately by lifting her head from his shoulder and looked into his eyes.

"Ma", she said in her baby voice and a crying face. Vijay wiped the tears from her chubby cheeks and said,

"Okay we will go and see your ma after getting changed. So be a good girl and wear this frock okay", Vijay said calmly.

Mazhilini started missing her mother and father. Eventhough she was a infant she can recognize her father and mother. So when a stranger said to her that she can meet her MA after getting dressed she agreed immediately.

Viji on the other hand was staring at her brother with wide eyes. She had not seen Vijay calming down any baby in her lifetime.Forget about calming down she had not seen Vijay lifting any baby in her lifetime. She had seen her Vijay anna as a strict police officer and a caring brother. This different side of Vijay amused her.Never in her life Viji thought that her tough and strict anna can make a baby smile.

Vijay dressed up Mazhilini and took her in his arms.Asusual she wrapped her hands around his neck. They both felt some connection and this made both Vijay and Mazhilini to smile.Turning to go out of the room Vijay noticed his sister standing with amused smile.

"What di", Vijay asked.

"Nothing may I know where are you going with this cute little pie",Vijitha replied.

"I am going to Mazhilini papa's amma", Vijay replied in a matter of fact tone and started moving out of Viji's room leaving behind the smiling Vijitha.

Vijay along with Mazhilini papa went inside Kavitha's room. Kavitha was sleeping peacefully. Both Vijay and Mazhilini looked at her and at one another.

"Mazhi ma,can we come afterwards because your amma is sleeping na",Vijay asked.

Mazhilini too nodded her head happily. Her father also will say the same when they both come to her ma's room if her MA is sleeping.So she nodded and went with Vijay.

While coming outside Vijay saw his mother and sister coming towards him.

"Good morning ma",Vijay said happily.

"Good morning Vijay", Chitra replied and kissed his forehead and Mazhilini's chubby cheeks.

"Viji take this papa with you. I want to discuss something with Vijay", Chitra said to her daughter.

Vijitha took Mazhilini from Vijay and told her mother that the papa's name as Mazhilini and she have to call her as Mazhi kutty ma to gain her attention with a naughty grin.

"Parrah!! Vijay your sister got some brains. She gathered information about the baby without anyone's help", Chitra exclaimed.

Vijay laughed out loud.

"Amma don't have this much high hopes in your daughter. It's me who gathered the information not your daughter", Vijay said between his laughs.

Vijitha rolled her eyes at Vijay and went towards her room with Mazhilini by cursing her brother under her breath.Chitra and Vijay smiled looking at her.
