Chapter - 15 Headaches

Chitra's head ache was at its peak when she entered her room. She was helpless in the situation she was brought into. She was torn between the love for her son and responsibility towards her family. She missed Ranjan in these kind of situations. She had experienced the same kind of helpless situation in her past. She was forced to take her family's side sacrificing the happiness of her own children more specifically Vijay.

More she pondered over the situation,more she suffered from head ache. She badly needed some coffee and her sleep. She decided to leave for her home. She cannot think straight with constant pressure from Prakash and Vanitha. She sighed and called her assistant through the bell.

"Aruna, whether my family members are still here?", Chitra questioned her assistant when she came in.

"Yes mam, they are in the waiting hall", Aruna replied.

"Okay ask them to come here", Chitra replied and went back to her thoughts.

Aruna was worried seeing her superior's frown. She immediately left to the waiting hall to call her family members. She knew something was wrong and it's none of her business to interfere.

Chitra when left alone went  back to the conversation she had with Kalai.

Few hours before,

Chitra along with Vijitha rushed towards Operation Theatre. Vijitha was breifing about the situation to Chitra on their way.

"Ma, Kalai aunty was brought into our Emergency after she fainted in the shopping mall. As of now Karthik went to check up on her and I came to inform you", Vijitha managed to say between her hiccups.

Chitra stopped her and hugged her. She knew that her daughter had reached her limit today. She was very much stressed and was in need of her sleep.

"Viji, you don't need to come with me. Go and get freshen up and be with Vanitha in the waiting hall", Chitra said and patted her head.

"Okay mom", Vijitha replied and went back to her locker room. She knew her mom was also not in a good shape,yet she managed to soothe her nerves.

Chitra sighed and went towards the Operation Theatre. She saw a worried Karthik exiting the Operation theatre. She immediately went towards him.

"Karthik, what happened?"

Karthik looked up to see his Chitra mom as strong as ever. He had always admired her way of standing strong in any situation.

"Mom, Kalai aunty had fainted in the shopping mall and brought into our Emergency ward. As of now I have checked her Blood Pressure,which is quite high. Also I have suggested to take an ECG", Karthik said.

"You handled it very fine, Karthik", Chitra said caressing her son's face.

He smiled leaning unto the touch of his mom.

"Okay now we will go inside and see Kalai", Chitra said and they both went inside the Operation Theatre.

Kalai was in the bed with many machines attached to her.

"Have you taken the ECG", Karthik questioned the nurse.

"Yes sir", she said and handed the copy to Karthik. Karthik looked at the report and he sighed in relief as the reports were normal.

"Mom, it is normal. She might have fainted due to the high BP", Karthik said to Chitra.

"Anni"(Sister-in-law), Kalaiselvi's small voice caught their attention.

Chitra immediately went to her side and caressed her head.

"You made us worried Kalai. You should rest", Chitra replied.

"It seems you will worry only if someone falls sick", Kalai replied.

Though Chitra was hurt by her words, her smile didnot wavered. She patted her cheek and turned to Karthik who was frowning at his aunt.

"Karthik, have you written down the medicines?", Chitra asked.

Karthik immediately turned his attention towards his Chitra mom. He should know about his Chitra mom. She will not let out any emotions infront of her children.

"Yes ma. I will ask the nurse to buy the tablets ma", Karthik replied.

They both were interepted by Kalaiselvi's voice.

"I will not take any medicines", Kalaiselvi's voice boomed in the silent OT.
