Chapter - 28 - The Twist

"How can he do this to me", Prakash asked with fury. He was pacing in his room full of anger. It was the nth time he was asking the same question and once again it was unanswered.

Vanitha was folding the clothes lazily. She didnot replied to any of his questions.

"Vanitha, I am saying something. You seem to not care about anything", Prakash said furiously.

"What can I do? Can you ask the same question to Chitra?", Vanitha said calmly.

Without waiting for the reply, she continued.

"No right?. Then don't eat my brain"

"I will ask Chitra Anni(Sister-in-law)", Prakash replied with determination and went outside their room.

May be his ego got hurt. Some one who is very much younger than him kind of insulted him in front of a crowd. He did not went to the office because of the events that took place in the party. He must have realised that something is fishy when Vijay immediately agreed to sign the contract. His mind drifted back to the events of party.

The look on Sekar and Mahesh when they saw Vijay with Prakash clearly indicated that they were not expecting Vijay.

"Ahh what a pleasant surprise Mr.Sekar", Vijay said before extending his hand towards a stunned Sekar. It took more than a minute for Sekar to compose himself and reciprocate the gesture. Prakash along with Vijay welcomed them to their garden and introduced them to their family members.

"Mr.Sekar, I am elated to join hands with your company", Prakash said when were in the dining area.

"Wish I could say the same Mr.Prakash", Sekar said and went away leaving behind a confused Prakash.He did notice the brewing uneasiness in Sekar, whenever Vijay came near them. To his utter surprise, Vijay arranged for police protection under Sashi for the party. Prakash also noticed the silent smirks exchanged between Vijay and Sashi. He knew both of them very well. Sashi practically grew up in their house. They both were inseparable from their childhood. But it surprised him when they drifted apart. Now Prakash's main concern was to close the deal without any hindrance. When he called Vijay for signing the contract paper,Vijay insisted to finish the dinner before signing the contract.

All were gathered in circles enjoying the meals. Rithvin, Viji, Karthik and Sashi were talking non stop as they were meeting after many years.

Chitra and Vanitha were entertaining the guest with their small talks.

Vijay was eating his meal calmly. He sat alone, away from the crowd. After some bitter experiences, he hated parties or any such gatherings. Whenever their company sign a contract, it was their tradition to arrange a get together. They expect Vijay to come to the party and sign the deal but it never happened since last few years. He will sign the contract in his office and will send the same to his uncle through his PA or any other trust worthy person.
But after many years, he was attending this gathering inorder to find some clue about Lekha Industries. Sekar and Mahesh became too careful for him to lay a perfect trap and though risking the reputation of his family's business, he set the trap by agreeing to sign the contract.

Though Prakash handles the business, the final decision and the signing authority were with Vijay and Chitra. For some reasons Ranjan made these rules unchangeable. Prakash was irked by this fact. He has to get permission from Vijay and Chitra to finalize any thing in the company. Likewise, he prepared all the papers for the contract and sent the papers to Vijay. He called Vijay asking him to sign the contract and that's when Vijay said him to arrange the party for closing off the deal. Prakash felt happy when Vijay himself said to arrange the party. He thought, Vijay was moving on from his past and failed to see the trap set by Vijay.
