Chapter - 17 Long words

BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE NEXT PART I WANTED TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE GIVING A CHANCE TO THIS STORY AND VOTING ON IT

Vijay was worried seeing his mom's eyes that held so much pain. He knew his mother had a hectic day. He went near her and hugged her. Chitra needed this, a reassurance that everything will be fine. Even Vijay needed this hug after his hectic day. He suddenly remembered Mazhilini who is in the home with maids. He broke the hug in a hurry,which made Chitra to frown upon him.

"Mom, I need to go home. Oh God how could I forget Mazhi", Vijay said and went towards the door.

"Vijay wait. I am also coming home", Chitra said and turned to take her things from the table.

"But what about Mazhi", Chitra asked while taking her things.

"Mom, I will explain later. Now can we go Mom?", Vijay replied. Chitra nodded and they both left for the carriage.

Meanwhile,

Prakash and Vanitha were worried about Kalaiselvi. Though Karthik said that Kalai was sleeping after creating a scene, they were not satisfied. They both stayed back in the hospital along with Rithvin and Vijitha. Vijitha choosed to stay back for backing up Karthik.

Karthik don't know what he was feeling at the moment. He was sitting beside his aunt, who was shifted to a normal ward as per his instructions. He was worried about his brother and his patient. If he stand for his patient then he is vouching his brother's life. And if he stand for his brother, then he is vouching his patient's health. Added to his confused state, his mother and father was not being helpful. They were constantly asking him about Kalaiselvi and said some regrettable things about his Chitra mom and Vijay. He sighed. He don't know what to do and with that state he gulped down his fifth coffee that night.

Vijay explained the happenings to Chitra about Kavitha on their way home.

"Poor girl. You must have brought her to me", Chitra said a accused tone.

"Mom it's for the best and Kavitha is doing all right. I had contacted her doctor and checked upon her", Vijay replied.

"Mom, how is aunty", Vijay asked his mother after being silent for 15 minutes. Vijay and Kalai's relation was a more of a  formal one. He won't voluntarily talk with anyone from the family other than his mother and siblings.

Chitra's demeanour changed with the mention of Kalai. She cleared her throat and contemplated the idea of answering her son.

"Umm.. She is alright. The reports came normal and Karthik is her doctor", Chitra said and closed her eyes, hoping that her son will not question her anymore.

Vijay found his mother's answer filled with careful words not to create any doubts. And to the top of it she just answered looking straight at the road and not his face. 'Maybe she was tired, Vijay thought and continued to drive.
Though many thoughts clouded his mind, his focus didnot waver from the road. Both were exhausted but sleep was far away from them.

They reached home and both went straight to Kavitha's room to check upon Mazhilini. It's near midnight but Mazhi was wide awake,when they entered her room. Chella ma was beside her and she was playing with her.

"Mazhi", Vijay's voice got her attention and she got up from the bed and tried to come near him with quivering lips. She missed her mom and Vij.

"Ma", Mazhi said looking at Vijay.

"Baby, Ma is sick and she is in hospital. We will go and see her in the morning,if you sleep now", Vijay said and kissed her forehead.

"Now we will go to my room and sleep. Okay?", Vijay said and got a happy nod from Mazhi and went towards his room.

Chitra and Chella smiled at the duo.

"If everything went correctly, we would also have a little girl who can call Vijay as Dad", Chella said silently which was heared by Chitra making her speechless.

THE NEXT MORNING.

Kavitha woke upto to muffled voice and giggles beside her;courtsey Vijay and her daughter. Vijay was saying something in Mazhilini's ears and she giggled. Kavitha tried to sit up and miserably failed because of the IV attached to her. But Vijay noticed Kavitha.

"Hey Kavitha, wait I will help you", Vijay said and placed Mazhi in the table and helped Kavitha to sit up.

"Did you sleep well?", Vijay enquired.

"Yes. And ummm..about..", Kavitha struggled to form words. She was very rude to Vijay last day and she wanted to apologize for her behavior.

"Ma", Mazhi called her and her attention went to her daughter. The sight of her daughter brought back fresh set of tears in her eyes.

"Hoo ohh... no crying Kavitha. I had bought all of your neccesaary things for you to get freshup. So first you get fresh up and we can leave for home", Vijay said breaking the mother daughter moment.

Kavitha looked at him with a different emotion. This is the long time he had spoke with her since her arrival in his life. Vijay too realised that and cleared his throat to cover up his embrassment. Vijay stood near her bed. He wanted to help her but hesitant to take the first step, like many people in this world.

Atlast, he took courage and stretched out his hand to help Kavitha for standing up from her bed. Kavitha looked at the hands before her. She also looked upon the face of Vijay, which was adorned with a gentle smile. She gladly took the support of her saviour and took the first step out of the bed, only to be startled by the opening of the door.
