Chapter 8

I rushed up the stairs leading towards the schools roof. I was panting and sweating as I couldn't wait to be out of that room.

I could possibly explain myself saying I ran into something, but there was no way a bruise that big would be caused by me tripping over.

They weren't stupid.

As I finally made it to the roof I found the nearest bench before placing my head in my hands and panting drastically.

They shouldn't find me for a while.

I got my breath back before leaning back on the bench.

I didn't even think twice about Kyo possibly throwing the water over me.

There goes the makeup idea.

I took a big sigh as I felt a small breeze go pass practically stroking my face as it flew by.

"Y/N?" A voice called as I looked over to see non other then Yuki and Tohru staring at me clearly worrying.

I couldn't help but tense up just by the sound of their voices.

I needed to escape, wait I can't! There was no way out! They blocked my only exit out of the roof.

"Hey!" I smiled tilting my head to the side.

They both took a seat next to me before Tohru brushed my hair away from my face looking at the indescribable destruction on my face.

"What happened?" She said gazing at me in my eyes.

"I tripped" I smiled as she looked at me sternly.

"We know that isn't the case Y/N your our friend, we want to be there for you, when you need us" Tohru smiled weakly placing her hand softly on my knee.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing I felt so touched by her simple words. It's like I almost melted in her arms.

I couldn't hold back the tears that started flying down my face drastically.

"We are here, talk to us" she whispered placing her hand around my shoulder pulling me into her body.

I wept...

I knew I wasn't going to be able to hide everything forever, I'm grateful Tohru is here and Yuki to listen.

Without thinking I told her my whole story, of what my father does around me and that I try to avoid him. I arrive late because of my problems and tend to hide my pain from everyone in attempt to protect myself.

After crying and releasing all my pent up rage onto them both I couldn't help but feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulder.

"I never knew you were going through something so tough..." Yuki added as I gazed at him.

"I'm really sorry we never noticed! You must think we are awful friends" Tohru said pulling a frown onto her face.

"No please don't think that! I'm really good at hiding my feelings, I'm just happy to have people like you to call friends" I said wiping my tears slowly away from my face.

"Well how about we go back to the hall? We can't do the rest of the props without you" Tohru smiled at me taking my hand into hers before she gently guided me back with Yuki following closely behind.

We reached the hall as Uotani and Hanajima were sitting on one side of the tiny pool, while Kyo sat on the other side holding his head in his hands.

"We're back!" Tohru yelled as everyone turned to me smiling. Apart from Kyo.

I took a seat in between Uotani and Hanajima as I could help but feel Kyo's gaze land on my cheek again.

"Hanajima you wouldn't mind putting some more makeup on me would you?" I smiled at her, feeling really self conscious of the eyes on my cheek.

She smiled before she pulled out her makeup bag gently tapping the sponge on my face being careful around the sore area.

I couldn't help but look at Kyo who was intensely staring at it while it got covered.

"I'm sorry Kyo..." I spoke softly gazing at him smiling.

"Whatever" he spat standing up and walking out the hall completely.

Never mind then...

"Did the water upset him that much?" I asked as Uotani laughed.

"He was saying he regretting throwing the water on you and he shouldn't of done that. I wouldn't worry about it" Uotani laughed wrapping her arms round me.

"Y/N come help us!" Tohru yelled from the corner standing with Yuki.

I got up walking over to them as she practically dragged me into the cupboard with her and Yuki.

"Yuki came up with an idea" Tohru spoke waiting for him to speak.

"It's fine if not, but with your whole situation would you like to spend tonight at my place in Tohru's room. That way you don't have to worry about anything, we will walk you home and help you with your stuff" Yuki spoke.

"We can have a fun sleepover!" Tohru added as I shook my head.

"I couldn't put that burden on you honestly!" I said as Tohru wrapped her arms round me.

"Don't be silly! It's just for tonight please" she insisted as I sighed.

"Only for tonight" I huffed.

Her smile couldn't get any bigger.

"Meet me at the gates and we will go get your stuff together" Tohru smiled at me as I nodded.

They only wanted to help me get my stuff, I couldn't let them go in and see what state I live in.

Most of all I couldn't let them see my dad. It was Tuesday night so I was almost certain he would be in the house, especially if he lost his bet.

I needed to be in and out as quick as possible.

"Also Tohru.. what we talked about on the roof, please just keep it between you and Yuki" I added as she nodded and smiled.

"I'll carry it to my gave!" She smiled.

Eventually we started getting the rest of the props together as Yuki wondered off for student council work in attempt to also find Kyo.

I couldn't let the rest of them find out about what I go through.
