Chapter 23: The Date

Eren's POV:

I woke up extra early today to get ready. I checked on Mikasa and she was still sleeping. I brushed my teeth and ate a piece of bread for breakfast.

I then got my phone, my keys and went outside to meet someone.

I drove a bit until I reached a small tailoring shop.

I went inside and I was greeted with the staff members.

I went to the reception, and asked for the scarf I wanted.

It was perfect. It was the exact same scarf I gave to Mikasa when we were children in our past life.

"Thank you." I said and gave the person 1,000 dollars.

It was expensive because they had to fix a torn and beaten scarf from all those years ago.

I then drive to a flower place and bought some Catharanthus roseus'.

I did some research and apparently they meant everlasting love. These were also the ones from all the times Mikasa and I were alone in our past life.

After I did, I drove back and went to my dorm room opening the door to see Mikasa looking at her phone worriedly.

"Ereh where have you been?" Mikasa asked, standing up. I quickly hid the bag containing the items in it behind my back.

"I called you multiple times and you didn't answer your phone."

"I was just taking a morning stroll for fresh air." I said, happy she still cared about me.

"Well anyways, are you ready?" I asked

"Ready for what?" Mikasa asked

"The place I'm going to bring you in." I smiled.

She looked at me confused.

"Don't you remember?" I asked.

"Hm.. oh yeah! I'll go get ready." Mikasa said, choosing her outfit.

After a few minutes she came out of the bathroom.

We then went to the parking lot to go to my car and then we drove off to the place I had prepared.

Once we arrived I went outside the car and opened the car door for Mikasa.

She got outside and looked around.

I then walked towards the viewing area with Mikasa.

"The scenery here is amazing" Mikasa said, astonished.

"Yeah" I replied.

"Wait here, I'm also gonna get something from the car." I said, walking back to my car.

I opened the trunk to get out the scarf and the flowers.

"It's pretty cold here." Mikasa said as I walked next to her.

"Close your eyes." I said as I walked infront of her.

Once she closed her eyes I wrapped the scarf around her neck.

"Open your eyes." I smiled.

She looked at the crimson red scarf on her neck and her eyes widened as she tried to process what was happening.

"This, is the same scarf I gave to you long long ago." I smiled.

"Warm.. isn't it?" I asked imitating what I said all those years ago.

"How did you get this?" She asked, holding the scarf in her hands, smiling.

"I hired someone to fix it." I said.

"This still smells oddly like you." She laughed a bit holding it to her face.

I smiled, slowly moving out the flowers from my back.

"Happy birthday Mikasa." I said smiling as I held the bouquet of Catharanthus roseus' in my hands.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked, as the flowers started glistening.

Mikasa's POV:

Eren likes me? but.. how?

He looked at me sadly, as his arms drop down to his waist.

"It's fine if you don't feel the same." He smiled, walking away.

It pained me to see him like this.. I wanted to be with him. I did.

I ran to Eren and embraced him tightly.

Eren looked at me, with a blank face.

"Eren.."

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend. I want to be with you, Ereh." I said, looking up at him.

Eren looked at me, shocked.

"What?"

"I said,-" I repeated, getting cut off by Eren hugging me tightly

I smiled, hugging him back.

"I love you so much" Eren mumbled.

I blushed, as I closed my eyes.

"I love you too" I replied, blushing immensely.

"I'll never leave you again, I promise." Eren said, smiling warmly.

After a while we pulled away from the hug, gazing into each other's eyes.

Slowly, we subconsciously moved closer to each other.

I could feel his breath in my face, making my heart beat rapidly.

As we got closer and closer, I knew there was no going back anymore.

A few seconds later, I felt a pair of soft lips on mine. I slowly closed my eyes as my arms subconsciously wrapped around Eren's neck.

I could feel Eren's hands on my back, pulling me closer.

A few seconds later we both pulled away, breathing heavily as if we didn't breath in ages.

I let go of Eren's neck as he let go of me.

I smiled, as he smiled back at me. Without saying anything, he grabbed my hand and intertwined it in his.

We both started walking back to the viewing point, sitting down by a bench looking at the scenery.

Eren handed me the flowers, that shined under the sunlight.

I laid my head on his shoulder, closing my eyes.

This is the only thing I've ever wanted. To be with him, carefree and happy.

It was just the two of us. It felt as if time stopped. Nothing mattered anymore except him.

This might be the start of a new beginning for us.

"I love you" I repeated, gripping Eren's hand tighter.

I want it to always be like this.

A short-ish chapter which I had to rewrite a million times because I wasn't happy with the outcome. I don't think I'll be changing this anymore though.
