Chapter 18: Past Life?

Armin's POV:

I kept repeating that line over and over and over again in my head. He wanted to meet up with Mikasa and I. Did he want to talk about us following him? I then took out my phone and texted Mikasa.

Text time:

Armin sent at 5:19: Hey Mikasa, did you get a note in between the cash Eren gave you?

Mikasa sent at 5:20: I haven't checked yet. Why? Did he give you one?

Armin sent at 5:20: Yea he did, check yours if he gave you one too!

Mikasa sent at 5:20: Alright..

2 minutes later..

Mikasa sent at 5:22: I saw it..

Mikasa sent at 5:22: It says we should meet up with him..

Mikasa sent at 5:23: Why do you think he gave us this note?

Armin replied to Mikasa at 5:23: I'm not sure.. do you think we should meet up with him?

Mikasa sent at 5:23: Sure why not? I don't see the harm in that.

Armin sent at 5:23: Alright then.. the phone number is on the bottom of the note so I can add him to a group chat.

Mikasa sent at 5:24: Okay.. ping me once your done.

Armin sent at 5:23: Alright.

3 minutes later..

In the new group chat containing Eren, Mikasa, and Armin:

Armin sent at 5:26: @Eren Yeager @Mikasa Ackerman

Mikasa sent at 5:26: Hey..

Eren sent at 5:26: I see you guys have decided to talk with me.

Armin sent at 5:26: Yea..

Eren sent at 5:27: So, where and when?

Armin sent at 5:27: We haven't really decided yet..

Mikasa sent at 5:27: tomorrow after school? Doesn't matter where.

Armin sent at 5:27: I'm down.. how about you eren?

Eren replied to Mikasa at 5:28: Sounds good.

Armin sent at 5:28: It's settled then.

Mikasa went offline

End of texting thing :)

I put down my phone and put the note in my pocket. I looked out the car window and saw we were almost home. I was thinking about the meetup that would be taking place tomorrow, I was a bit nervous.

The next day:

I woke up earlier than supposed to today. My alarm hasn't gone off yet so I have extra time to do stuff.

After i finished my morning routine, I started to get hungry so I went to the kitchen to prepare myself some breakfast. I got myself the milk carton, the cereal box, and a bowl.
I had alot of time to spare so I started scrolling through social media while eating my breakfast.

My dad left for work early and for my mom, she probably is still sleeping since it is just 6:50 am.

Alright, I guess I exaggerated. I still had an hour before I needed to walk to school so I decided to leave a note for my mom and I walked outside to get some fresh air.

I walked to a viewing spot nearby and sat down on one of the benches and decided to watch the sun rise, even if the sun was almost fully out already.

It was pure silence. It was like nothing and no one was around. The world drifted away, it was.. peaceful..

Back in my past life, it was pretty rare to get a peaceful moment like this without any commotion since inside the wall there would be loud chatter all the time and outside the wall, you'd have to worry about titans ambushing you if ever you were unlucky enough to stumble near them.

So this was nice..

A few minutes later I checked my watch and saw it was 7:28. I could still make it to the college on time even if I stayed a bit longer so I kept sitting down watching the beautiful scenery.

I then heard something or someone approach me. And due to my instincts that I would always need in my past life I stood up immidiatley and turned around.

"About to leave already?" My current mom asked smiling.

I then felt like an absolute idiot. Did I just assume there was a titan about to eat me if I didn't turn around? Oh my god why would I- nevermind-

"O-oh n-no not yet.." I replied feeling stupid.

I then sat back down in a bit of a relief and then gestured my hand to tell my mom to take a seat.

"I wanted to talk to you about something." My mom said in a calm tone.

"What might that be?" I asked a bit concerned I was in trouble or something.

"Well, a week or so ago, when your friend Mikasa came to our home, I overheard you guys talking about a past life. Is this true?" She asked not taking her eyes off the scenery.

My heart started beating so fast I could feel it skip multiple beats. I was extremely nervous now. What if she brings me to a mental hospital? Or abandons me? Or-

"Armin?" My mother asked in a concerned tone.

"I- I.." Was all I managed to blurt out.

"So, it is true.." My mom said looking at the ground

"So does this mean you had a different mom before me? Did you have the same last name?" She asked

"Y-yes.." I answered

"If you think I would bring you to a mental hospital then your wrong, I would never abandon you alright?" My mom comforted putting her hand on my shoulder.

"Th-thank you.." I thanked

"Do you mind telling me more before you head off to school?" She asked calmly diverting her full attention to me.

"S-sure.." I agreed

"Well.." I started thinking what topic to start on.. and other things like how was I going to tell her I was THE Armin Arlert who lived in the Titan ages??
