A/N this chapter's credit goes to DramaticBookworm02. SHE GAVE ME THE PROMPT FOR THIS CHAPTER SO THANK YOU, IT'S BEEN A WHILE BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO GO FIND MY FIRST SALLY CHAPTER SO THIS MIGHT MAKE MORE SENSE.

"I can't believe they're dating!" I stared at my cup of coffee, Paul sitting across from me at the kitchen table. I was still kind of in shock, just yesterday I had discovered that Percy was dating his long time best friend Annabeth. To say I didn't expect it would be a lie, Percy was so painfully obvious about his crush on her, but I was still a little surprised.

"He is sixteen, I think he's allowed to date a girl," Paul stirred his coffee.

"I know that but you'd think he'd tell me," don't get me wrong, I was absolutely ecstatic, my little boy had a girlfriend, he was all grown up now. However now I knew, and Percy still hadn't told me, I would have to talk to him soon.

"Maybe he's just embarrassed?" Paul guessed

"Why would he be embarrassed?" It didn't make any sense to me.

"Well, I mean don't get me wrong Sally, you're a good mom but you sometimes smother him, maybe he just wants to keep it to himself for a while." Paul wouldn't look me in the eye.

"Smother him?" I asked

"You know, you're always asking about his life, trust me I know kids, just let him tell you." Paul went to put his cup by the sink. "He'll tell you on his own time, just give him space,"

"Give who space?" Right then Percy walked into the kitchen, stretching his arms above his head.

"Oh just one of my coworkers" Paul answered for me.
Percy just shrugged and grabbed a piece of toast sitting down in Paul's spot.

"So honey," I started. Percy looked up at me chewing his toast. "Anything new?" I tried to keep my voice casual. Paul shot me a look but I couldn't help it, I just wanted to hear it from my boys mouth.

"Ummm, we got a new kid in science if that's what you mean?" He stated.

"Well not that, I mean with your social life, your friends what on with them, who's with who, you know?"
Percy leaned back in his chair looking uncomfortable.

"No, nothing new there," he seemed nervous.

"Oh okay, I'm just asking you know,"

"Yeah that's great mom, umm I gotta get ready," Percy rushed out of the kitchen.

"Told you," Paul chastised me.

________TIME SKIP________

"Hey mom," I heard the sound of the front door closing.

"Hey sweetie, how was school?"

"Good, Annabeth is here again, is that okay?"

"Oh yeah that's fine," I tried to keep my voice normal, the couple walked into the kitchen, Percy was in the middle of a story.

"And then she got really mad for some reason and I'm not sure why,"

"Seaweed Brain, you are so oblivious." Annabeth rolled her eyes.

"Well for your information Wise Girl not all of us have an IQ of like 130 you know," Percy grabbed a cookie off of a plate on the table.

"You could have an IQ of a dirty sock and still be able to recognize that she likes you, yet somehow you manage to overlook the very obvious hints she's constantly dropping" Annabeth scolded.

"Wait."Percy looked confused, "Miranda likes me?"
Annabeth sighed and turned to me.

"Hi Mrs. Jackson," she waved.

"Please just call me Sally," I smiled. The two teenagers walked into the living room just as Paul entered through the door.

"Hi Paul," I called out.

_____TIME SKIP (again..)_______

"Percy, Annabeth, dinners ready!" I called out. I didn't hear any response. I looked at Paul and he just shrugged.

"Maybe they didn't hear you," he suggested.
I sighed and made my way over to Percy's room where the two had moved to, supposedly to "work on homework" though gods knows if Annabeth could actually get him to work it'd be a miracle.

"Percy?" I knocked on his door. No answer.
"Percy?" I knocked again. Again no answer, I tentatively opened the door peaking my head into his messy room and what I saw made me torn between scolding my son and squealing in delight.
There in the centre of the room stood Percy, his arms around Annabeth's waist, her arms around his neck the two of them very passionately kissing. As soon as they heard the door they broke apart they were breathing heavily and both of them turned bright red when they saw me.

"Geez mom, haven't you heard of knocking!?" Percy exclaimed.

"I did. Twice." I calmly explained.

"Oh." Was all he said, Annabeth wasn't looking me in the eye.

I couldn't help but smile. "Well for the record, I'm very happy for you two but dinner is ready, so if you'd like to eat I'd suggest coming out." With that I closed the door again and walked back to the kitchen.

"What are you smiling about?" Paul asked.

"Oh, nothing." I replied. "Now eat your potatoes."
