(A/N THIS IS BEFORE PERCABETH WAS OFFICIAL)
Annabeth had always been like a daughter to me, I had watched her grow up and I guess that's why it was hard for me to let her go on those dangerous quests, hard to acknowledge the fact that she so obviously had a crush on Percy, it seemed like only yesterday that she was grossed out by the sight of people holding hands.
"Alright, steady your bows," I called, I was currently teaching a shooting lesson with the Athena in which Percy had conveniently decided to join much to my discomfort, "remember to point to your target, align your bodies and shoot," the sound of arrows hitting wood echoed all around me. Some of the campers had done quite well, not as good as the Apollo cabin, although nobody was ever as good as those kids. I surveyed the scene as kids continue to shoot, reload and then shoot again, Percy seemed to be having trouble.
"Nice shot Seaweed Brain," Annabeth teased as her arrow pierced the red bullseye of her target.
"Well gee thanks," he replied sarcastically, "but not all of us have had the privilege of training since we were 7, plus you know I'm more of a sword guy,"
"It's all in the positioning of your body," she explained shooting yet another arrow into the centre of the target, "you're twisting away too much, you'll never hit it if you keep doing that,"
Percy readjusted his body so he was better lined up and tried again, this time his arrow landed just a few centimetres shy of the red centre.
"Wow, thanks," he said
"No problem," she lowered her bow and turned towards him, "you're really actually not that bad, you have the basic skills it's just a few adjustments that need to be made,"
"You're really good at this you know," he shot another arrow hitting even closer than the last one
"I could help you if you want," she said, "you know, extra practice,"
This seemed to surprise Percy as his arrow went flying off into the woods.
"Extra practise?" He questioned,
"Yah," she replied.
"Like just you and me?"
Annabeth started to turn red and Percy seemed to have a pinkish tinge to his face as well,
"Well I mean, you know, not like," Annabeth stumbled over her words.
"Sure," he cut her off, "I could use the help," they both smiled and I called out
"Annabeth, Percy, back to work, you can talk about your date later," this caused both of them to blush to their roots and a few of the other kids to snicker, they both turned back to their targets although they seemed to be a little distracted, their arrows flying everywhere. I smiled, who knew maybe if they got together it wouldn't be too bad, I could defiantly get a bunch of teasing out it.
