There he was, Percy Jackson, captain of Goode's swim team, hottest boy in the school and my best friend. We'd bonded over out mutual interest of marine biology, our hatred of Ella Chadwick -the school slut- and the fact that on my first day here, he threw a dead frog at my face in science. I'd had a crush on him right from the start although I knew I didn't stand a chance, I mean brown hair, brown eyes, average intelligence, nothing special there. Plus he was constantly going on about this girlfriend he had that lived in San Francisco although no one in our group really believed she existed.
"Hey Percy," I called walking over to where he, Kyle, and Amy were talking.
"What's up Emily?"
"The opposite of down," I replied.
"Seriously...that was pathetic, even for you," he laughed
"Shut up," I punched him lightly in the arm.
"So, any plans for tonight?" Kyle spoke up
"Not for me," I said.
"I'm good," Amy chimed in
"Well I'll have to check but I think I have a few friends from camp visiting," Percy said. Ahh camp, apparently there was this mystical magical camp place that he went to over the summer which was where he allegedly met his "girlfriend" when they were 12, but you could only go there if you had ADHD and dyslexia, which none of us had.
"Ohh will we finally get to meet this so called "girlfriend" of yours?" Amy teased, accentuating the word girlfriend.
"Actually yes, you will," Percy replied , right then the bell rang and we headed off to 1st period.

__________TIME SKIP_________

At last the final bell rang I raced out of class stuffed my books in my bag and rushed to meet my friends. They were hanging outside underneath one of the oak trees out front.
"I don't see them yet," Kyle said, "that's it they're fake,"
Amy smacked him on the arm, "it's only been like 3 minutes doofus relax. After waiting for another 10 minutes a red car pulled up and 3 people got out, one was a girl with short jet black hair, a silver ringlet rested atop her head, her electric blue eyes surrounded by thick lines of black eyeliner, I started to feel intimidated. The other boy seemed much younger around the age of 14 maybe 15, black hair hung in his face hiding his dark eyes that stood out against his pale skin, okay that one creeped me out a little. Finally I noticed the second girl and immediately felt self conscious, she was tall and very athletic looking, with blonde hair that hung in ringlets even the most popular girls in school would kill for, and her eyes, man they were cool, they were this startling grey colour and seemed to be sizing everyone in the immediate vicinity up as if calculating how long it would take to beat them in a fight. I glanced over to Percy to see him smiling bigger than ever. These must be the camp friends
"Sup Kelp Head?" The girl with the silver ringlet and eyeliner spoke, her hands in her pockets.
"Pinecone Face, Death Breath," Percy nodded to eyeliner girl and the kid with the dark hair.
"What am I? Invisible?" The blonde girl spoke up
"No, you're Annabeth" Percy smiled and gathered her in his arms hugging her. I prayed to god that they were just friends I couldn't handle anything else, guess I didn't pray hard enough because right then he pulled back and kissed her full on and all my hopes diminished. He pulled back, turning to us and said
"Guys these are my um... Cousins Thalia and Nico and my girlfriend Annabeth," he said with a triumphant smile, "guys these are my friends Amy, Kyle and Emily,"
"She exists!" Kyle was staring with wide eyes, "I was so sure she was fake!"
Annabeth just laughed, "no one ever does seem to believe I'm real,"
"Maybe that's because this idiot over there makes you out to be some kind of a goddess," Amy jerked her thumb in Percy's direction. Annabeth glanced up at Percy who blushed and stared at the ground, she smiled and rolled her eyes.
"Well come on guys we gotta get going," Thalia said
"Oh yah, well it was nice meeting you," Annabeth called as they loaded into the car. I sighed as I watched them turn around a corner and disappear, there went Percy Jackson, my long time crush with his amazingly wonderful beautiful girlfriend whom I knew I could never live up to
