A/N OKAY PLEASE TELL ME I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE IN LOVE WITH THE PICTURE OF ANNABETH UP ABOUVE, LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT I REALLY LIKE IT. ANYWAYS I WANT TO SAY OH MY GODS YOU GUYS I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH, I WOKE UP THE OTHER DAY TO ALL OF YOUR VOTES AND COMMENTS AND I SQUEALED LIKE A MADMAN, YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!
Okay now on with the story.
ALSO I THINK I HAVE AN OBSESSION WITH FETUS PERCABETH LIKE BEFORE THEY GOT TOGETHER.(This happened between The Titan's Curse and Battle of the Labyrinth)
We were in the training centre, the ringing sound of swords connecting strung through the air as people sparred all around us. Annabeth and I had come down earlier and we were currently waiting for our turn on the mat. The hunters and I had decided it was time to stop by Camp for a while...plus we kinda wanted to whoop their butts at Capture the Flag again.
It was strange looking at her, the little girl I used to protect suddenly wasn't so little anymore. She was way taller and her hair had grown out to be much longer plus there was this overall aura of confidence and bravery that seemed to surround her. Things were definitely different. Especially between a certain best friend and herself.
Percy really was a subject, even I myself was willing to admit his looks were fairly decent, but Annabeth, well she was head over heels for him. You didn't have to be a child of Aphrodite to notice the blush that crept up her cheeks whenever you mentioned his name. I'd tried talking to her about it a few times, but in each instance, she'd clam up and change the subject, So I eventually just gave up."Thals, you coming?"
"Huh?" I blinked out of my daze to see that Annabeth was already standing on the mat, her dagger gleaming in her hand.
"Oh, oh yeah," I walked over to join her.
"You sure you ready for this?" Annabeth taunted
"Are you?" I asked. All she did was cock her head to the side with a smirk on her face, I wasn't feeling too confident anymore.
To tell the truth the battle didn't last too long. I had never been too good with using a sword and after all my time with the Hunters using their bows and arrows, it felt stiff and heavy in my hands. Annabeth disarmed me quickly, my sword clattered to the ground, and next thing you know she had her knife against my throat. She stepped back, her arm lowering."Okay, when did you get so good?" I picked up my sword.
"Well I'm not entirely too sure, but it might have been during those years you were stuck as a tree," she smiled.
"Don't remind me," I pouted, gods that was awful, you know how people talk about how nature is wonderful and boring and just relaxing? Yeah well you know what if you spend enough time "relaxing" there, you'll soon come to find that it is actually very boring. Trust me, you DO NOT want to become a tree!
"That was good wise girl but you need to time it faster," a voice spoke from behind me, turning around I spotted Percy leaning on his shoulder smirking.
"Oh really, Seaweed Brain, and how would you know?" Annabeth prompted.
"Well.." He started walking forwards, hands in his pockets, "I mean I am a better fighter than you," he stopped just two inches away.
"Are not!" Annabeth placed her hands on her hips.
"Oh don't even bother to deny it well all know it's true, right Thalia?"
I decided to join in on the game."Sorry Beth but.... I think Percy's right," I teased.
"You too!" She threw her hands up.
"The only way to settle this will be through a duel, I suppose," as I suggested this idea, I noticed many people were stopping whatever they were doing to turn and watch.
Percy raised an eyebrow, "whadda ya say?"
"Fine." She sighed.
I stepped back and watched the two get ready."You're so going down," he taunted.
"You wish," as soon as the words left her mouth, she pounced. Their battle definitely continued much longer than mine did. Standing back, I got to fully appreciate the warrior Annabeth had grown up to be and I also, grudgingly, recognized Percy's swordsman skills.
The battle ended with Percy's sword against Annabeth's throat, her dagger lying a few feet to the right."W-what?!" She exclaimed, "b-but, but how!"
"Told you," he recapped Riptide, "I'm just a better fighter."
"That's not possible," she spluttered. "I-it's completely, preposterous, it's it's-"
"Come on wise girl, what are you trying to say? Just spit it out" he laughed, and she punched him in the arm.
"Ouch, hey that hurt!""Oh boo hoo," she made a face.
"Hey, yo Perce," a voice called out. It was Conner Stoll, standing across the room. "Come on man, we need ya,"
"Well duty calls, I can't let down my fans," Percy stretched his arms out in front of him. Annabeth rolled her eyes, he glanced over towards me and chuckled. Then he did something that shocked us both. He bent down, kissed on the cheek and while walking away called out.
"Great session by the way,"Annabeth just stood there, her arms still crossed, her grey eyes widened to the size of golf balls. She looked up and caught my gaze and blushed bright red at my smirk.
"Oh shut up," she stormed off. Oh yeah, things were definitely different.
A/N ALRIGHT LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ON THIS ONE AND OTHER THAN THAT I JUST WANT TO SAY ONE MORE TIME THANK YOU ALL SO SO SO MUCH, YOU'RE ALL THE BEST....
