A/N Hey, another update, even though it takes me like 5,000 years to get them up here, but that's not the point right now, the point is that hey I finally got it up which means you can go ahead and read on, and I hope you like it. Also this hasn't been proofed so there may be a few mistakes.
(Btw this is an AU so don't freak out if it's not all accurate with stuff from the books)
Oh no, no no no, this was not good, not good at all. Unfortunately, I was put on detention duty Wednesday afternoon and I had the explicit pleasure of staying an extra hour after school sitting in silence making sure around 20 or so kids were also sitting in silence. It's not only the students who hate detention. I was halfway through my coffee and finishing the sports section of the newspaper when the door opened with a huge slam. In walked a kid I had never seen at this school, he had messy jet black hair and green eyes that just screamed trouble as he smirked at me.
"Sorry I'm late, I got held up." He barely gave me a second glance as he walked past, I normally would've given the kid an extra 20 minutes seeing as he had missed the first few but I didn't want to stay that long either so I let it go. I watched him quickly scan the room before his eyes landed on the last person I needed him talking to. Annabeth Chase. Annabeth Chase, though an incredibly smart student, was the main cause of trouble in the school, she was constantly pulling pranks and doing whatever she could to get a laugh in, every teacher lived in fear when she walked into the room. The new kid sauntered over and plopped down in the seat next to her, Annabeth didn't even spare him a glance not looking up from her laptop.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing in here?" The kid smirked at her.
"What makes you think you can talk to me?" Annabeth still hadn't looked up and continued to type furiously.
The kid seemed to be taken aback as I chuckled softly to myself; as much as every teacher in the school dreaded her pranks we all secretly looked forwards to them at the same time, they kept things interesting and Annabeth herself was actually a pleasure to talk to once you got to know her. No doubt this kid came in here, took one look and assumed she was some goody two shoes teachers pet, considering her perfectly curled blonde hair and, in contrast to her personality, pastel coloured shirt and light jeans, and figured she would be an easy catch, I had to give her credit, she shut him down real quick.
"Well gee Princess no need to get snappy. The name's Percy Jackson." Percy recovered quickly trying to hit on her again.
"Didn't ask, but thanks." Annabeth still hadn't looked up.
"Do you have a name?" Percy leaned over, man the kid was relentless.
"Yup." Was all Annabeth replied with and no more than that. Percy seemed at a loss as to what to say as she stretched on the silence until about 3 minutes later when she finished typing and closed her laptop. She looked up and I could see something strange pass her face as she actually looked at Percy for the first time since he entered the room but it quickly passed and she put her smug look of confidence back on. "I'm sorry, you didn't expect me to tell you what it was, did you?"
Percy rolled his eyes. "You're not what I was expecting."
"You mean I wasn't easily wowed by your, how would you put it 'charming personality' and 'incredible good looks'? Because you're right, I wasn't." Annabeth raised her eyebrows. "I take it as a personal measure that I don't associate myself with boys such as yourself."
"Boys such as myself," Percy smirked. "And what would that be hmm Kitten."
"Don't call me that." Annabeth glared at him.
