(A/N ALRIGHT THANK YOU TO @LilydaughterofHecate FOR THIS IDEA, BTW THIS IS WHERE THE MIST IS GONE AND MORTALS ARE NO ABLE TO SEE EVERYTHING CLEARLY)

Normal? I'm sorry, that word no longer exists in my vocabulary, not after what I've just witnessed. I used to be a normal kid, a normal kid, who went to a normal high school and had a normal job, normal friends and everything was the way it was supposed to be. Then the mist disappeared.
Now you're probably asking me, what the heck does that mean? What's the mist? Is it some kind of metaphor? And the answer in no, no it is not a metaphor, the mist in fact is the magical barrier in our world which blurs the lines between what we see and reality.
I guess I should explain.

*********FLASHBACK*************
"Alright sir that'll be $20.34," I finished punching buttons on the cash register, and collected the money from the man in front of me.
I was working my regular shift at Barnes and Nobles (YES HE IS A FANBOY) and I was starting to get really bored, Oliver hadn't shown up today so I was practically all alone, on the bright side I still had Kaitlin. Man she was pretty, with her long reddish hair and these deep brown eyes, and that tattoo I know she has on her shoulder yet she never let's me sees.
"Thank you, and have a nice day," I handed the bag over and then set my elbows upon the counter, totally bored out of my mind. I suddenly heard a distant crash and perked up. It couldn't have been inside the store it was too muffled. I spun around just as the window behind me exploded. Thrust backwards I flew over the counter, landing on the floor with a giant snarling black beast on top of me. People started screaming and scrambling out of the way. I myself wanted to do the same but was restricted by the 200 pound elephant on my chest.
"JAMES!" I bent my head as far as I could to see Kaitlin standing in shock about 3 feet to my right.
"KAITLIN, GO!" I shouted, waving her off but she just stood there.
Right then, two people whipped through the front door, one carrying a giant sword, the other a shorter knife by the looks of it.
"Over there!" One of them exclaimed, the beast on top of me snarled, took one look at them and bounded off my chest. There was a flash of bronze and a burst of golden dust and then the monster was gone, disappeared just like that, poof.
I pushed myself to my feet, still shaking from the event. I was now able to get a closer look at the two strangers, one was a taller guy with messy black hair sprinkled with golden dust and super green eyes, the other was a girl, only a bit shorter, with curly blonde hair and stormy grey eyes, she scared me the most.
"There could be more," the girl spoke.
"I know," the guy responded.
"Um, excuse me," I piped up, "would either of you like to explain?" I hobbled my way over the Kaitlin, still standing there with an open mouth. The two strangers looked up at me.
"Who are you?" The girl demanded.
"James," I stuttered, "James Rambot,"
"Do you know both of your parents James?" The girl asked.
"What kind of question is that?"
"Answer it!"
"Okay, okay, yes I know my parents, their names are Sasha and Michael Rambot, now what is going on?"
"He's mortal," the girl whispered to the boy.
"Mortal?" I questioned, "what does that mean?"
The girl just held up a hand as she turned to the boy and started talking.
"Mortal? He can't be mortal!" The boy said.
"I know that Seaweed Brain, but he has to be!"
"Then how did he see through the mist?"
"I don't know, maybe something's up with Hecate"
The boy shrugged and turned to me, extending his hand.
"I'm Percy Jackson, that's my girlfriend Annabeth Chase,"
Annabeth just crossed her arms and squinted at me like she was sizing me up, I turned back to Percy accepting his hand.
"James Rambot, now could you please tell me what's going on!"
"Well James, let me ask you a question; What exactly do you know about the Greek Gods?"

*******END OF FLASHBLACK*******
After that day I still kept in touch with Percy and Annabeth, sadly I myself am not a demigod, no I'm still mortal but I do know more about their world now. The mist has currently been restored, however there are still days where I can catch glimpse of something that doesn't quite seem "normal". In other news today is my 3 month anniversary with Kaitlin and to say the least I couldn't be happier.
