1st Track.(glimpse)

Widow Track.

Vrindavan is a holy town in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is famous for the numerous Lord krishna temples, the bubbly and festive environment. It has evolved as a pilgrimage site of Hindus. Vrindavan is also known to shelter the widows, who want to spend the rest of their lives in company of lord.The holy place where lord Krishna and Goddess Radha resides. The place where Radha and Krishna were born.
The place which had witnessed their devine love.The place where the people come to seek blessings.
Was it safe for the woman who were sent as widow to this very famous place?

Nope.

Because here in the sacred place , women were treated as if they aren't humans.

They were given clothes only one cloth to wear i.e. a plain white saree and even rags. In short No proper clothing.

One time meal. Only plain rice,in less quantity. No sweets,curries and milk.
Fasting without even drinking a drop of water on Ekadashi. It was sought of penance and a belief that she will be freed from the mistakes that she didn't  commit.

Widows were sent there to serve their rest of life in the feet of lords. But the same widows weren't allowed to attain any religious ceremonies , because they were called inauspicious. They were often called Chudail or Daayan as people thought that are bad omen to people around them. The so called samaaj never went to them nor let the widows come near.

They were given separate rooms to stay. They used to sleep on the hard floor without any pillows or blankets to comfort them. They were living in a room where no ventilation was there.
They weren't allowed to go outside.
They were deprived of any fun in their life.

Cow dungs were thrown at them.
They often had to give purity test like put a burning camphor on their palm, not caring about the wound it would cause. Even drinking boiling hot
Ghee or gulp down the cow dungs.

They were deprived of all social and personal rights. They were forced to beg. The society would taunt the widows like " because of them their husband died ". If someone tries runaway then , they were dragged by their hairs and beaten until and unless they fall on their feet to forgive them.

Most of the widows are from West Bengal and Bihar.

A sad reality.

The purpose of bringing this track is for the upcoming track. As I have written in the intro that Bondita is a widow.
Through this track I want to show two things , one being how a widow was treated and second how Anirudh saved Bondita.

I know this track is already shown in one of my favorite book written by Jahanavi002. I was inspired by it.
