A Small Family.

Bondita and Anirudh arrived at Roy Chowdhary Haveli. Anirudh asked Bondita to take Anika inside while he will park the car.
Bondita nodded and took Anika in her arms who had slept in her lap.

As soon as Bondita entered Kaka came and started asking her questions.

Kaka: Bahu. Kahan the tum log. Itni der se hum tum sab ka intezaar kar rhe hai.
Pata bhi hai Kitna pareshaan ho gye the ? Ab bolo bhi.

Bondita: Kaka sasoor ji, pehele Anu ko kamre mein Sula ke aati hoon. Phir aake sab bataungi.
To koyli: Didi, khana ban gya hai kya?

Koyli: Nahi Maalkin woh banane hi jaa rhi thi.

Bondita: theek hai mein aapki madat kar deti hoon. Naina Anika ko kamre mein le jaogi?

Naina,smiling: Zaroor didi. Laayiye.

Bondita handed Anika to Naina and headed to the kitchen.
As she left, Anirudh entered with some bags in his hands.

Kaka: Anirudh.

Anirudh: jii Kaka.

Kaka: Kahan se aa rhe ho beta? Bahu se pucha par usne ko kuch nhi bola. Par bohot pareshaan lag rhi thi.

Anirudh sighed and narrated everything to him.

Kaka,angry: Unn gundon ki itni Himmat ki humari poti ko aghwa karne chale the. Chodhenge nhi hum usse.

Anirudh sighing: Kaka meine sazaa de di hai. Balki mere se pehele Anika ne do hai.

Kaka,confused: Anu ne? Kaise?

Anirudh: Bondita ke wajah se. Ussne usse ek kahani sunai thi. Self defense ki.
Matlab atmarakshan.

Kaka: Chalo theek hai.

Anirudh: Baaki sab kahan hai?

Kaka: Binoy aur Som daftar ke kaam se Bahar gye hai. Batuk apne kisi dost ke vivaah mein gya hai. Naina bahu Anika ke saath hai aur Bondita bahu koyli ki madat kar rhi hai.

Anirudh nodded acknowledging his words. He went to his study but while going the envelope on which the photographs were there fell.

Kaka took the photograph and started admiring it until and unless he got shocked seeing Anirudh's and Bondita's couple photo. Kaka could understand from their faces that they were forced to take this photo. Nevertheless he admired it with a smile.

He saw that Anirudh after changing his clothes , was going to Anika's Room.
Bondita too taking three plates of food in a tray headed to Anika's Room.

Naina came down and asked Kaka to have his food to which he nodded.

In Anika's Room.

As Bondita entered she saw that Anika was awake and Anirudh was trying to talk to her but she was silent. Probably she was scared by whatever happened
today.

Bondita took a deep breath and entered with a gentle smile: Anu. Uth gyi ?

Anika timidly nodded.

Anirudh looked at Bondita helplessly. His eyes were already pooled with tears seeing his daughter like this. Bondita blinked her eyes in assurance to which he nodded wiping his tears.

Bondita sat beside Anika and said: Anu dekho tumhara favorite banaya hai meine. Khaake batao kaisa bana hai?

Anika slowly whispered: Bhook nhi hai Maa.

Bondita, pouting: Par meine itni mehnat se banaya apni beti ke liye. Waste ho jayega na.

Anika: Maa shotti. Bhook nahi hai.
