Somethings are meant to be heard

"Aapne sharab kyun pi?" Bondita asked keeping her hands on her waist while looking at Anirudh who was behaving like child.

" Mein nahi bataunga." Anirudh said I'm a childish voice to which Bondita tried not to scream in frustration. She calmed herself and kneeled infront of him.

"Batao.." Bondita said to which Anirudh nodded in No. " Inka nasha jhaadu aur nimbu paani se hi utrega." As she was about to leave, she heard him mummering.

" Vanshika..kahan ho tum..please wapas aao.." Bondita halted on her way. Bondita turned, looked at him and smiling, she went away to get lemonade for him.

As Bondita brought the lemonade for him, she found him sleeping. Struggling with making him drink the lemonade, she got yet again frustrated. Nevertheless, after making him drink, she covered him with a warm blanket and left the study.

Coming inside her room, she sat on the bed silently, smiling. She smiled and then laughed. She laughed so much that her cheeks hurt her, yet she laughed. And lastly she cried.

A person who noticed her sighed deeply and without coming inside walked away.

Its been 2 months since that incident. Everything was back to normal. Some scars were still there but Anirudh was sly enough to hide them. The relation between Bondita and family members grew stronger day by day while her bond with Anirudh was alsogrowing but in terms of friendship.

Though not fully recovered but Anirudh had come over that incident. By the time, Bondita had realised she had fallen for her husband. She used to day dream, smile when he was near her, get sad when he was away and waiting desperately for him. She used to wait for him to have dinner with him. At first, Anirudh was little hesitant but he too gave in and used to eat with her. There was a rule.

After the end of the day, they used sit in the balcony with a cup of coffee and talk about their day or anything else they want to share. They used to laugh, tease and annoy eachother. Bondita found her home in him while Anirudh, after a long time found friend. Both were important to each other but in a different way.

Everyone, in the family were able to see the love Bondita had for him, except for Anirudh. What he thought and meant was only friendship. Anirudh who was before hesitant and annoyed when Anika used to call Bondita as Maa, was now quite okay with it. He didn't mind it as he saw how is daughter was happy.

Today, as well Bondita was waiting for him at the door step when Anika came while rubbing her eyes with one hand while the other held her teddy bear.

"Maa..." Anika said in a sleepy voice which made Bondita look at her. Bending at her height, she asked " Kya hua, ab tak soyi kyun nahi?".

"Bhook lag rhi hai.." Anika said, to which Bondita looked at her and then remembered that she had slept without eating anything.

Later

Anika had slept by keeping her head on Bondita's lap. She had held Bondita's one hand and kept it under her cheek and slept. Bondita was humming a song when someone knocked at the door.

Bondita opened her eyes and asked the person to come in. It was Kaka. Bondita was about to get up when Kaka indicated her to sit. He sat infront of her, looking at Anika.

" Aap ab tak soyi nahi?" Bondita asked lightly patting Anika's head.

Kaka sighed and looked at outside the window.

Outside
Living Room

Anirudh entered the house with a huge smile on his face. He looked around but didn't find Bondita which surprised him. Usually shr used to sit on the couch with a English magazine or newspaper or some case files, waiting for him. No doubt he used to get annoyed with it but now was used to it. He hung his coat on the chair and went to their room. She wasn't there neither in the study.

Anika's room. She must be there. He thought to freshen up first and then meet her. He had something exciting to share with her. But then he stopped and walked towards Anika's room.

He was about to knock the door when he saw it was little open. As he was about to push the door, he stopped. His hands were hanging in the air.

" Bahu tum Anirudh se Kab kahogi ki tum usse pyaar karti ho?" Kaka said with worry laced in his voice.

" Pyaar..mein koi pyaar vvyaar nahi karti Kaka sasoor ji..hum sirf ache dost hai..kaafi ache dost.." Bondita said looking here and there.

" Chup raho tum. Hum sab jaante hai. Kaka sasoor hai tumhare. Ghar ke mukhiya hai. Humare bachon ke baarein mein humse zyada aur koi nahi jaan sakta." Kaka said narrowing his eyes.

Bondita was about to deny, when Kaka showed his eyes. Bondita sighed and looked down.

This was enough for Anirudh to walk away from there.
