The living room was filled with mummerings and small talk. On the sofa sat Binoy and Trilochan Kaka while Som and Batuk stood together. Anirudh was pacing back and forth infront of the main door.

A screeching voice echoed and Robert and his father walked in, with hands in their pockets.
Anirudh welcomed them and made them sit.

His eyes landed on the lifeless soul who was decending the stairs, looking at nothing particular. She was little surprised to see the whole village inside her house. Bondita looked at Anirudh with questioning eyes while he shrugged. He went and forwarded his hand. Bondita hesitantly kept while he held her hand in a firm grip. As he was walking, Bondita saw Robert and his father. She immediately stopped and tried to run, but Anirudh's firm grip was stopping her.

Seeing Bondita, Robert smirked ans stood up while Bondita held Anirudh's arm and hid herself behind. As he walked near, Bondita's grip on Anirudh was getting more firm.

" Jisne Gunha kiya hai saza do Bondita." Anirudh told. Bondita nodded and whispered a no while Robert chuckled.

" Mr. Roy Chowdhary. May i know ki aap aur apke oarivaar waale, mujhe aur mere father ko yahan kyun bulaya hai?" Robert asked in a stern voice.

" To give you Punishment, Dimwit!" Batuk shouted. Robert looked amusedly at Batuk, then at Bondita and Anirudh. " Who will give? She?" And laughed.

" Wasn't she the one, who made your brother got to prison?" Anirudh asked while Robert's laugh ceased and this time, the Roy Chowdharies laughed .

" Anirudh, come on I didn't even touch your wife properly. And foremost, she is too stubborn. Ache chunne ke moka tak nahi diya. Does she do the same when, you touch her? Kyunki aaj tak jitni bhi ladkiyon se mein mila hoon, they did what I said par Bondita toh.." Robert said with hands in his pocket, looking up to down at Bondita making her uncomfortable. She hid herself behind Som and Batuk who were ready to pounce at him at any moment. The smirk on Robert's face increased seeing their reactions, which was soon removed, as Anirudh punched him. Robert fell on the ground, with bleeding lips.

Anirudh bent and holding him by his collars said " Usse uski marzi ke bina chunne ki keemat toh tumhe chukani padegi. I will make sure, that you will never be able to touch any woman from now on." He pushed him to the ground and stood up. He turned and looked around to see Bondita hiding herself.

Robert's father helped Robert to get up. Robert wiped the blood from his bruised lips and stared at it.
As Anirudh walked near Bondita he heard Robert's voice " Tumne toh aaj tak usse nahi Chua. Uski taraf dekha bhi hai kya tumne? If she was my wife, I would have claimed her right on my wedding night. But look at you, you bloody In.."

" How dare you speak like this about my wife? How dare you? Bondita meri patni hai par iska yeh Matlab nahi ki uske marzi ke bina uske upar apna haq jataun. She is my wife and this is our life, hum lade, jhagde, maare yaa pyaar hi kyun na karein, decision humara hai, tum jaise Ghatiya logon ka nahi." Saying this Anirudh started to beat Robert.

" Dada. Batuk. Inhe rokiye na please. Khamokhaam tamasha ban raha hai" Bondita said in a pleading tone to Som and Batuk.

" Arre Boudi. Itne saalon baad, Dada ko kisi ki pitayi karte huye dekha hai, dekhne do na. Mein toh kehta hoon, mein na namkeen leke aata hoon, khaate huye dekhenge. Bada maza ayega." Batuk said. 

" Aap dono pagal hai kya? Agar unhe kuch jo gya toh?" Bondita said irritatedly.

" Arre boudi, Dada ko kuch nahi hoga. Agar hoga toh woh, iss Robert ko hoga. Aur Jo ho raha hai, Acha ho raha hai. Aapko aapki marzi ke bagair chunne ki saza bhugat raha hai. Mar bhi jaye toh koi afsos nahi." Som said gritting his teeth, looking at Robert.

She sighed irritatedly and looked at Binoy and Kaka, who were probably convinced with what Som and Batuk said.

She prayed to Durga Maa, and took large steps towards Anirudh and Robert. Robert was already semiconscious state. Anirudh was about to slap when Bondita came and held his hand. She held his hand, in her both hand and nodded in No. Anirudh left Robert's collars. Bondita asked him to not to do it but Anirudh nodded in No and was about to slap when Bondita whispered a please.

" Ek shart pe. Mujhe jo saza deni thi, meine de di. Anyay tumahre saath hua hai. Tum saza nahi dogi kya?" Anirudh asked.

Bondita looked at him shocked and before she could revert back, they heard the village men, women, Robert and his Father laughing.

" Ek aurat nyay karegi?" The village men yelled and laughed. " Faisla tumhara hai Bondita. Anyay ko rok ke aur apne aapko nyay dilake, tum har aurat ki Prerna banna chahti ho yaa ek Dari, sehmi ladki banke har aurat ke saath anyay hone dena chahti ho?"

Anirudh removed his hand from her hold and turned to leave. Before leaving he said
" Tumne Agar pehla vikalp chunna, toh tum har aurat ki Prerna banogi, Anika ki Prerna banogi par Agar tumne dusra vikalp chunna, toh tumhare barrister hone ka koi labh nahi."
Saying this he walked and stood near his Kaka.

Anirudhs words ringed in Bondita's ears. She looked around her and saw Men and Women, especially men mocking her through their eyes. Her fathers words ringed in ears as well.
" Jab Mahishasur ne apni hadh Paar ki thi,
Tab Durga Maa ne trishul dharan kiya tha.
Waqt aane pe har aurat ko apni khudki suraksha khud hi karni hogi beta. Apne haq, adhikaar, maan , samaan ke liye tumhe khud hi ladna hoga. Koi madat karne nahi aayega. Tumhe khudki madat khud karni hogi."

She looked at her family, who were standing in support of her. She looked behind, the whole village and Robert smirking at her, thinking that she can't do anything. The men were ogling at her, waiting to see what she can do? Because in their minds they have always created an image helpless women, working as slaves for them.

She again looked at front, at little Anika who was also waiting for her answer. Anika had always said that, if Anirudh is her weakness, because she can do anything for him, then both Vanshika and Bondita are her strength. Anika gave a light smile, assuring Bondita that whatever she chooses, she will always stand by her side.

Suddenly her eyes widened a little when she saw Dhruv and Vanshika standing together in a corner, giving their best smiles to comfort her. Bondita gave a smile but soon it got vanished when she felt his filthy touch again. She turned and saw his hands was about to reach forearm, when Bondita pushed him and stepped back. She looked around and ran away.  Anirudh and other Roy Chowdharies closed their eyes and let out a heavy sigh while the villagers and Robert and his father laughed and mocked.

" Kisine kabhi kisi aurat ko nyay dete huye dekha hai? Has anyone? She is just meant to be our slaves. What you people say, yeah paeron ki dhool." As soon as Robert finished his sentence, everyone laughed. But soon their laughter ceased and they started mummering.

" What happened? Kya hua?" Robert said looking at the villagers.

" What happened wale uncle, abhi kuch happen nahi hua hai, par abhi happen hone waala hai. Khud hi dekhlo." Anika said innocently. She gave a look to him and turned her face behind. Anirudh and the others, confused looked behind. The smile again made its place on their face.

" Bihari. Darwaza band karo. Mehmaan Nawazi ab bhi baaki hai." Trilochan said smiling devilishly.

" Arre hum toh kabse band karke rakhe hai."Bihari said with smirk and wiped his hands with his towel.

Bondita was still not sure but as her eyes met Anirudh's, she got the confidence. She walked forward while Robert backward.

" Mrs. Bondita. I am sorry." Robert said getting scared. " Father do something." Robert yelled.

Mark was about to step when Som and Batuk came in between and held him by either sides. " Arre Uncle. Wait no. Abhi puri kahani baaki hai. Climax scene hai. Interrupt nahi karte." Batuk said and held him firmly.

Bondita held Robert by her collars and pushed him on the ground just like he had done with her. And then, she started beating him with the stick. Tears fell from her eyes uncontrollably but she didn't stop beating. Tears made it's way in Roy Chowdharies eyes but they didn't budge in. They wanted Bondita to take all her emotions out.

After a while, Bondita was little calm, she fell down on the ground and cried. Naina ran and side hugged her, and tried to calm her. Anirudh and Anika clapped their hands, joined by others.
