It's the 20th chapter guys. Honestly didn't think I would get this far.

~...~

Jihoon looked at Soonyoung from across his coffee table, smiling slightly. He had constantly invited Soonyoung over after the day they went out to get coffee to do homework or maybe just to hang out. Since it was a Saturday, Jihoon had invited him over, saying he could even stay there for the night if he didn't want to go home to his parents. That got Soonyoung's attention and he quickly agreed, saying he would do anything to get out of the house.

Soonyoung was currently texting someone furiously, biting his lips hard. Jihoon watched Soonyoung closely and felt his stomach do a summersault when Soonyoung licked his lips before typing something on his phone. [ Why am I like this?] Jihoon thought to himself, fiddling with his fingers. He thought back to what Vernon had told him: I get flustered when I'm around him and my heart suddenly beats so fast and my palms start getting sweaty.

[ Is that what it feels like to like someone?] Jihoon asked. He admitted that his heart would beat like crazy when Soonyoung so much looked his way, and he would get flustered when Soonyoung leaned to his ear to whisper something, doesn't really matter what. [ Getting flustered, check. Heart beating fast, check. Sweaty palms?] Jihoon thought for a while, he didn't get sweaty palms around Soonyoung. Did that mean he didn't like Soonyoung? Jihoon didn't know how he felt right now, did he like Soonyoung as a friend or more? He was so caught up in his own thoughts, he didn't notice Soonyoung had been eyeing him curiously.

"Jihoon, what are you thinking about?" Soonyoung asked, sitting more closer to Jihoon than necessary. "Ummm...Nothing." Jihoon's mind immediately started panicking. His palms started to feel wet and the room was getting really hot. [ Sweaty palms, check. I like Soonyoung.]

"Really? Then why were you thinking of sweaty palms?" Soonyoung asked. Smirking when Jihoon's eyes widen as he slapped both his hands over his mouth. "You like someone!" Soonyoung said as he read Jihoon's expression. "Who's the lucky girl?" Soonyoung asked, eyes sparkling. [Right, Soonyoung does not know I'm gay.] Jihoon thought.

"It's a secret," Jihoon said, sticking out his tongue. "Just one hint," Soonyoung said, giving Jihoon a cute expression, which would not have worked if it was the old Jihoon, but this Jihoon. Oh boy, his heart started beating 10 times faster.

"Fine," Jihoon said. "His... I mean her surname is Kwon," Jihoon said as Soonyoung's phone starting ringing. Soonyoung held the phone to his ear and a second later, his smile disappeared. "Jihoon, we need to head to the garden."

~...~

Jihoon and Soonyoung pushed open the door that led to the secret garden and came faced to face with a very troubled group. "Guys. What's going on?" Jihoon asked, clearly getting worried. Even Seokmin's smile had disappeared, it must be bad.

"Jeonghan is missing," Jun said, hugging a crying Minghao. "We decided that Soonyoung, Minghao, Jun and Joshua should go to the police station and report it cause the five of them are a bit closer. The rest will try looking for him." Seungcheol said. "If you find anything, remember to call either me or Soonyoung," Joshua said, ending the little meeting as everyone went on their separate way.

~...~

Seungcheol and Seokmin looked around the school rooftop, as some students said it was the last place they had seen Jeonghan. "Did you find anything?" Seungcheol called out to Seokmin, who was staring at a dark corner, not moving. "Seokmin?" Seungcheol said as he walked up to the boy.

Seokmin stood there, all the colour drained from his face. He pointed at something huddled in the corner. Seungcheol walked closer and his eyes widened when he saw a dead body, bonded together. The person's hair had been shaved off and all his clothing had been removed. He had scars and blood all over him, making it almost impossible to identify the person. Seungcheol gulped nervously.

"Seokmin, call the police now, please?" Seungcheol said shakily. On the dead body's neck, hung Jeonghan's necklace, covered in blood.

~...~

Mingyu walked quickly down the quiet lane with Wonwoo next to him, his head turning in every direction. Wonwoo had said he had a hunch that Jeonghan was around here, no reason but he felt it. But when he told the others, none of them thought it was a valid reason to look for Jeonghan here, well everyone except Mingyu, that was.

Mingyu called out Jeonghan's name loudly, hoping he would hear him. Wonwoo on the other hand was silently walking, not looking in any direction but ahead. "Wonwoo, are you sure he could be here?" Mingyu asked, falling into matching his steps with the quiet boy. Wonwoo nodded his head before pointing at something a bit further in front. Mingyu squinted his eyes, trying to figure out what it was.

"Wonwoo, please don't tell me that's..." Mingyu started his sentence before rushing towards it. Jeonghan was tied up and gagged. His hair was a mess and he had bruises all over his body. "Jeonghan! Come on, we're getting you to a hospital." Mingyu said, untying Jeonghan and picking him up in a bridal style.

"Mingyu? No, put me down..." Jeonghan mumbled out softly. "Don't worry, you're going to be okay," Wonwoo whispered to Jeonghan. "You don't understand, put me down," Jeonghan said, struggling against Mingyu.

"Welcome, Mingyu and Wonwoo." an unknown voice was heard behind them. "Looks like you found your friend. Congratulation. But if you want Jeonghan you must pay the price." the voice continued, and a cage came into view. "You know what to do. Only two are allowed to leave. Make your decision," and everything went silent.

Mingyu was on the verge of breaking. Sitting on the floor, he laid Jeonghan down so Jeonghan's head was on his lap. Wonwoo sat next to him, softly laying his head on Mingyu's shoulder. "Wonwoo, try calling Joshua Hyung," Mingyu told the older, as he himself tried calling Soonyoung. "There's no signal," Wonwoo said, shutting his phone off. Mingyu laid his head back on the wall, letting out a breath he didn't even know he was holding.

Wonwoo looked at the boy next to him, his heart aching. He was too precious to be taken away by an evil person. Wonwoo had fallen for the taller boy unknowingly. The way he would pout when something didn't go his way, and how he smiles every time he sees a dog. The way he talked with Wonwoo like he was a normal person and how he cared about Wonwoo. The way he always tries to help someone in need or how he was always dropping things and being clumsy, Wonwoo loved it all. But Wonwoo knew the taller boy didn't like him back, he was 100% sure Mingyu was straight. Wonwoo sighed deeply before getting up, he had made up his mind.

"Wonwoo, what are you doing?" Mingyu asked as he watched the boy walk up to the cage's open door. Wonwoo looked back at Mingyu and smiled a sad smile.

"I have a question," Wonwoo said, carefully placing his right foot into the cage.

"Wonwoo..." Mingyu called after him, getting up slowly. "Whatever you want to do, don't." Ignoring Mingyu, Wonwoo leaned into the cage.

"Why... out of 7.8 billion beating hearts..." Mingyu jumped up and attempted to pull Wonwoo back as he stepped fully into the cage, the cage door swinging shut and locking.

"...why did I fall for yours, the one that didn't beat for me?"
