Luna's POV

I did not know his strengths. I did not know his weaknesses. I did not know his personality, his love, or if he was a cat or a dog person. I only knew one thing about Calum Chase. In 65 days, he would be dead.

I did not particularly want to kill him. There was no reason to, the way I saw it, however the Commander would think differently. And because no one, no one, goes against the Commander, I couldn't exactly not kill him.

Calum was handsome, with dark curly brown hair and bright blue eyes, but his personality ruined the whole thing, for me anyways. Watching him from the back of the classroom, I sighed indignantly. Calum had just taken answers from some random girl with curly brown hair and nice green eyes, kind of cute actually, but not the point. He was a stereotypical jock, trying to act cool and funny, and dumb as a doorknob. Well, doorknobs are probably smarter than him. Definitely smarter.

The girl next to me, Everest something-or-other gave a small whisper. "Boys." I let out a small giggle, surprising Everest and myself. I didn't giggle. Ever. She looked at me with chocolate brown eyes, one eyebrow raised as if asking "Really? Did you seriously just giggle?" My face flushed to the color of the girl's long straight red hair, but quickly recovered and shrugged.

"No. I coughed," I said, giving the air of someone who was arrogant and never would admit to anything, even if it saved a life. Everest muttered something I couldn't hear and turned back towards the front. I went back to stalking- I mean watching Calum. The idiot had begun to flirt with the green eyed girl, running his hands through his hair and making her giggle and blush.

The teacher, Ms. Ellenby, stood up and walked to the front of the classroom.

"As you know, we have a new student, Ms. Luna Ravenrose. Please make her feel welcome and be nice to her." The classroom all turned around to stare at me, and I stared at each of them back. I did not care to be noticed.

"Also, class, I am going to have you all do a project on evolution. It is due next month." Everyone groaned, but quickly started choosing partners.

"Oh and your partners will be the person sitting next to you." Everest glanced at me and shrugged. "Class dismissed."

We both quickly got up and out of the classroom. Everest stopped me and said, "Hey should we work on it this weekend?" I nodded.

"Yeah... My house?" I asked. Everest looked at me and gave a quick

"Yes."

I tore off a piece of paper and handed the address to my partner, and Everest took it and walked off.

---------------------------------------------

After the boring school day had finished, I got into my car and drove off to my house, listening to some random 90s music. The house was a gift from the Commander, since I had no place to stay and do the job.

It was nice, bright blue with cute windows and real shutters, not the fake ones they put on houses these days.

I parked, walked up to the back door, which swung open automatically. This did not bother me, since the Commander had done this to almost everything in the house.

I walked up the stairs, to my bedroom and collapsed onto the bed. It would be a long 65 days. Calum was so....normal. It was hard enough to kill people her age, much less normal people her age. But all I had to do was kill him. It wasn't that hard. With these thoughts swirling through my head, I fell asleep.

-------------------------------------------

I woke up with a start because I heard a creak downstairs. It wasn't unusual, the house was old, but a creak that loud wasn't common. Then, I heard something else. Footsteps. Only one pair, so I could probably handle them. I grabbed a hunting knife from underneath the pillow and quietly slipped downstairs.

All of my senses were alert, so I was prepared when I felt a presence behind me. I whipped around and found a man, about 6'4" standing in front of me.

He was holding a sword, and snarling at me like I was his prey. But I wasn't. I vaulted into a front flip and landed behind him. He swung around and nicked my arm with his sword. I growled, and grabbed his arm. Twisting it made him cry out in pain and surprise. He didn't expect me to be that strong, for I was small and looked like a puppy. A vicious puppy. I kept twisting until I heard a a giant crack, and let go of his now broken arm. He collapsed, whimpering and I kicked him in the chest, sending him flying back.

I walked up to him, smiling like a joyous child, and drove my knife into his heart. His eyes widened and he choked out a word.

"Lemlas." He slumped back, and his life diminished.

It wasn't as if I could leave a dead body in the middle of the hallway, so I closed my eyes and touched the man's forehead. I whispered a few words, and the body disappeared, leaving no trace behind.

There was blood everywhere so I sent that as well, making sure there was no evidence of a brawl. I cleaned off my knife in the sink and put it back underneath my pillow.

My head was pounding and I felt as if I were about to faint. It took a lot of energy to use my magic like that, and it wouldn't come back for at least a day. Which meant I was magicless. For a whole day. Shit. I closed my eyes, and just as I was about to drift off from sheer exhaustion, the doorbell rang.

Stumbling downstairs, tripping and falling like a drunk, I opened the door. Standing in front of me, was Everest. Shit.

Little note:
Hello darlings. Shut up Anna don't call them darlings. I do hope you enjoyed that, it took a lot of staring at my computer and ripping my hair out in frustration so... yeah.
