Marina's POV
As if this day couldn't get any worse, I was now third wheeling with Assassin Number One and Probably Assassin Number Two. I assume they shared the hobby of killing.
The awkward thing was, they were mad at each other. Well, Luna was mad at Caspar.
"Okay, David Bowie, please apologize to Luna." I said, wanting to break the silence.
"Whatever you say, Marina and The Diamonds." Caspar said, earning a laugh from Luna. Luna immediately blushed and put on another angry face. Caspar turned to her and began begging for forgiveness.
"This is too painful to watch, I'm going to go down this hall to look for EFW."
"EFW?" Luna asked. Momentarily distracted from her boy toy.
"Everest the Friendly Wolf." I said quickly and began walking down the dark hall.
I began whistling softly to myself. It wasn't a clear song that came from my mouth, it was more a mix of Fur Elise and Twisted Nerve. The sound echoed eerily against the empty school.
I heard another sound that sounded like a whimper. I began running towards the source, hoping to find Everest.
The moment I got to EFW, I knew something was wrong. The large russet wolf was cowering in a corner, almost as if something had scared it. I walked up slowly and began petting my friend.
"Shh. Everest, I'll be okay. I need you to transform back into a human again for me. Could you do that? Please??" I coaxed. I flash of light momentarily blinded me before I saw my ginger friend.
"What happened?" I asked, confused by the whimpers.
"Turn around." Everest choked out. I followed her order only to become face to face with angry brown eyes. I fell back on the floor, startled by the girl in front of me.
"WHERE. IS. MY. BROTHER?" The girl asked. I inspected her closely. She had dark blonde hair that was cut short so that half of her face was covered. She was dressed in all black. Black clothes. Black boots. Black gloves. This is how I imagined assassins to look like before I met Luna and Caspar. Her eyes were the color of a thunderstorm, looking at me with intensity.
"Could you be more descriptive on brother? We're both obviously females." I said, becoming annoyed with the sheer amount of murderers.
"Tall, dark hair, heterochromia. Could you point me in the direction of this person?" The scary girl said, pointing a knife at me. I sighed.
"You mean my pal, David Bowie? He's off sucking faces with my friend, I assume. Just go down this hallway." I said, gesturing aggressively.
The girl pushed me against the wall, putting her sharp knife on my neck. Her face was inches from mine.
"Would you mind leading me? If it isn't any trouble." Her voice was full of sass.
"Follow me." I said, surrendering. Everest trailed behind me and Caspar's sister. She was obviously too scared to speak. If I wasn't so sleep deprived, I wouldn't have said a word either.
"I didn't catch your name?" I asked after a few seconds of walking.
"I didn't throw it." The girl said, not making eye contact with me.
"Well I'm Marina, like the sea. This mute is Everest." I said, trying to be friendly.
"Lacy." Was all the girl said. Lacy wasn't exactly the name I was expecting. It sounded too innocent for the girl in front of me. I shrugged and continued my walking pace.
