Marina's POV

My mind was a complete blur. It was like I was watching myself from the outside. I wasn't sure which way was up and which way was down, much less my left from my right.

I faintly remember making fart noises with my new friends and a power outage. I remember Luna kicking us out. But mostly I was getting odd flashbacks.

These flashbacks weren't real, I've never actually expirenced them. It was like everything in my mind scrabbled to make new memories.

*flashback*

The room was dark and I could only see a faint flash of light coming through a small window in the far left of my vision. I walked around for some time, attempting to get out of my newfound prison. Suddenly, I heard a raspy voice coming from behind me. I turned around slowly, expecting the owner of the voice to be talking to me, but instead, they directed their voice to someone else.

"I have a new mission for you, darling." The raspy voice said. It sounded female.

"Whatever you need, commander." A new, familiar voice said. I knew that voice from...somewhere.

"I need you to kill someone. Someone who's escaped my wrath for too long." The first voice exclaimed. I tried walking towards the voice, but I was paralyzed in my standing position.

"Give me the name and address, and they'll be dead in no time." The younger voice said. It was also female.

"Calum Chase. He lives in Bismarck, North Dakota. You will need to be enrolled in his school. Get to know the people there. Then, when they least expect it, kill him. You have 70 days, and you must not fail me." The 'Commander' said. Calum Chase? MY Calum Chase?! There must be some mistake. He can't die.

"Have I ever failed you before?" The other voice said. It took me a minute, but I realized why I had recognized that voice. That was Luna's voice.

*flashback*

The moon was shining straight in front of me. It was a perfect circle of white light. I stood still for a second, gathering my surroundings. I was standing on freshly mowed grass. It looked like I was inside a valley between two mountains. There were large willow trees all around me, remind me of when I was little and would hide in those shady trees.

OOOOWWWWWWWWW

A wolf noise sounded from one of the mountains. Quickly and quietly, I ran to hide in one of the willow trees. I would probably be on this wolf's menu.

The sound of padded feet hitting the ground echoed around the valley. I shifted a few of the long vines to that I could see the wolves.

Two grey wolves came into view. One had striking blue eyes that looked fierce and challenging. The other had purple eyes. It was slightly rounded than the other one, and it seemed to be protecting its large stomach.

A flash of light blinded me, causing me to cover my eyes. When I got the chance to look back at the wolves, they were gone. In their place were two humans. They looked like newly weds, and the woman was pregnant. She had long auburn hair that hung in a loose braid, and she was dressed in loose clothes. The man had a tight white shirt on, contrasting with his dark unruly hair.

"This is dangerous, sweetheart. I don't think it will be good for our baby." The woman said, stroking her stomach.

"I know, I know. Its Just- Its inevitable. Our baby will become one of us." The man said, sighing.

"Maybe not. Maybe our baby won't inherit our...disease. What she doesn't know won't hurt her." The wife said defensively. The man shook his head slightly.

"I don't think that will be possible. We wouldn't want her to change when we're not there." The husband exclaimed, earning a soft nod from his mate.

"Oh, sweet child. We wish you luck." The mother said to her stomach.

"Our sweet little Everest." The father said.

*end of flashbacks*

I was brought back into reality with a quick jerk. I found myself on the ground in what looked like an alley. Beside me, I noticed a familiar flame of auburn hair. Everest lay beside me.

I wanted to tell her about what I saw, but I couldn't bring myself to it. Everest's parents, if they even were her parents, were terrified of their daughter becoming one of them. I felt that what I saw was something I shouldn't share. I then realized I was probably hallucinating.

"Marina? Are you awake?" Everest whispered to me.

"Yes. What happened?" I asked.

"You passed out. I dragged you into the nearest alley way I could find." Everest muttered. I nodded in appreciation, and I forced myself to stand up.

"We need to get home." I said to my friend. She nodded once and stood up next to me.

"I know, but I don't know whe-" She was cut off by singing. A group of men were walking towards us singing at the top of their lungs. They were obviously drunk.

" There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm- "

Their loud singing was cut off by one of them yelling, "LOOK WHAT WE HAVE HERE!!" They seemed to have noticed the two teenaged girls looking at them in disgust.

"Hey there, sweet thaaaang." One of them said, coming onto me. I could smell the vodka on his breath.

"You sure are puurddy." Another one said, stroking Everest's flaming hair.

"Get off of me! I SAID GET OFF!!" I yelled at the persistant middle aged men.

"STOP IT!! DONT TOUCH ME!" Everest was on the verge of tears. I remembered that she was a few years younger than me. I tried blocking Everest from the groping men.

Suddenly, there was a flash of light. A car engine roared as a sleek silver car raced towards us. I cringed, awaiting impact, but the car turned at the last second. The door opened, and a man stepped out.

"Get away from these girls." The man said. With a closer inspection, I realized he was young, almost my age. The group of men backed up with their hands raised in surrender.

"Get in the car!" The young man said forcefully towards me and Everest. I tried not to imagine this like a scene from Twilight. I shrugged at Everest and walked towards the glinting car. Everest trailed behind me.

I got into the front seat, and my ginger friend took the back. Within a few seconds, the stranger got into the driver's seat.

A/N
Is this a cliffhanger? Ehh. I'm no Rick Riordan.
So yeah, Everest is a werewolf, Marina is psychic, and Luna is an assassin. Sorry if the end was confusing, but I just watched Twilight sooo...

The song that the creepy old men were singing is House of the Rising Sun by: The Animals.
