Everest's POV

After I had gotten out of the ropes, I ran without thinking and left Marina behind. I didn't know if Luna would need help, and Marina wasn't in immediate danger with Caspar gone. I had ran outside, not knowing where to go when Lacy jumped from behind me and pushed me towards a forest with unbelievable strength.

"Where is he?" She has asked, looking around frantically.

I didn't answer because I didn't know who she was talking about, and I was in wolf form, so I couldn't talk anyways. She then stuck her knife in my side. I didn't howl, but I clenched my teeth in pain. I fell over, gasping for air when she stepped on me. She kicked my head, and I rolled over in pain. It was at this point we both heard footsteps, so she backed away, readying to scare whoever walked up to us.

It was Marina. She handled the situation pretty calmly, though I noticed Lacy had put the knife away before Marina saw it (maybe because Marina did not appear as a threat), and now they were 10 feet ahead of me, talking about assassins, psychics, and, for some reason, bananas. I normally would've joined in their conversations, saying something about apples, but I was too shook up.

I walked cautiously behind Lacy and Marina. Lacy had pulled a knife on me and scared the shit out of me, so I already didn't like her. Plus, she knew my secret.

We were out searching for another 5 minutes but saw no sign of Luna or Caspar. I was still trailing, not paying attention to the bloody footprints I was leaving behind. Delirious and tired, I started to think about Caspar and Luna making out in a warehouse. Like I said, I was delirious.

Lacy suddenly stopped walking, and Marina bumped into her side. Lacy glared at her, all signs of a new friendship from their earlier small talk gone. Marina blushed, returning to her normal awkward self.

"Shut up," Lacy said.

"We weren't talking," Marina replied, clearly annoyed.

"You were thinking. It's annoying," Lacy taunted back. I would be probably screamed at the Sherlock reference, but just then, I fell over and the world began to fade.

----------------------------------------

When I woke up, I saw the worried face of Marina, and a scowling Lacy. I wasn't unconscious for long, I knew that much, but Lacy seemed pissed, like me passing out from the wound that she made was somehow my fault. I struggled to get up, leaning on Marina for support, smiling timidly.

"We need to stop the blood flow. Apply pressure while I look for Luna and Caspar. Maybe they'll know what to do," Marina commanded. Lacy scoffed, like she wasn't used to taking orders from someone who wasn't a higher ranking assassin. Or not an assassin at all.

"No. She's fine, the knife didn't go very deep. Maybe you can turn into a wolf again? Would it make it any better?" Lacy said, clearly wanting to look for her brother.

"Um I don't know, I haven't gotten complete control. I won't hurt anyone, but it might be hard to Change back," I said, but I knew I'd end up doing what she said. I sighed loudly and started to Change.

I had never willingly Changed before, but it took about 3 minutes of me staring at the ground in concentration. There was actually no pain this time. Immediately, the wound started to hurt less. Not because I could heal or anything, but I was a wolf, and they were just tougher.

We started walking, Marina in the front. I had calmed down by now enough to join in their conversation, this time about tangerines.
