Marina's POV

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. I yawned and stretched my long legs out.

"Mmmm" I heard from beside me. With a yelp, I noticed Everest laying beside me. She had wrapped her pale arms around her torso. Sorry, Eve, I'm taken.

Everest jerked awake and noticed her positioning. In disgust, she untangled her arms from me and scratched her hair. Her eyes were puffy from only about 5 hours of sleep.

"Let's pretend that didn't happen." I said, jesturing to the spot on the floor where we were sleeping. Hey, Naya Rivera and Chloe Grace Mortez are hot, but I'm pretty content with being heterosexual.

Everest nodded in reply. We had slept on a rug in Luna's house because Luna completely ignored us for Caspar and didn't show us a place to sleep. I smoothed my Carlo's Pizza Shack shirt that I was still wearing down and walked into Luna's kitchen.

Then I, of course, walked right out because Caspar was standing there stark naked playing a game on his phone.

"I wouldn't go in there if I were you." I muttered to Everest before marching to Luna's room.

"EXCUSE ME, I JUST SAW YOUR BOYFRIEND'S DICK!" I yelled to a figure I thought was Luna.

Just my luck that it wasn't.

The Luna-like-figure turned around. It was a woman, sure, but she had no resemblense to my friend. She had straight hair that was hair-sprayed up in a hairstyle that looked like it belonged in the movie Hairspray. She had an eyepatch on her left eye. Her right eye held a look of disgust and confusion.

"What did you just say to me? Who even are you!?" The woman said. Her age was a mystery to me, but I guessed late 20's.

"I'm..uh...Luna's friend. I thought you were- nevermind." I stuttered, becoming awkward. I need to see a psychiatrist. I ran out of Luna's room and run straight into another body.

"LUNA! Thank god. Is that your mom?" I asked in relief. Luna just laughed in response. Her long hair was pulled back into a messy bun. Not a cute messy bun, but a complete rat's nest.

"That is most definetely not my mom. That's the Commander." Luna said, still laughing as if the Commander being her mom was the most ridiculous thing ever.

"Oh. Well, I just said 'dick' to the Commander." I said, looked at my feet.

"And what sentence did you use it in." She asked slowly.

"'EXCUSE ME, I JUST SAW YOUR BOYFRIEND'S DICK!'" I recited. Luna's face reddened and she stormed to the kitchen.

"Oh, and Marina?" Luna asked just as I turned around.

"Yes?"

"Don't pretend I didn't see you and Everest spooning." Now it was my turn to blush.

It was like an awkward family dinner. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. There was tension between Luna and Lacy. Tension between The Commander and me. Even more tension between Caspar and me. I didn't make eye contact with anyone, just focused on my chocolate chip waffles.

"So, Everest, Marina, How did you meet Luna?" The Commander said, trying to break the silence.

"I delivered her pizza." I said, flicking my eyes towards the eyepatch.

"I'm in her class at school. McKinely High." Everest said, happily eating her bacon.

"McKinely High? Lacy and I have to enroll there." Caspar said, maple syrup dripped from his chin.

"McKinely? I go to McKinely." I said. I've never noticed Everest or Luna.

"You do?" Everest and Luna exclaimed in unison.

"That's wonderful. Now you can all be together. Maybe I should apply to become a teacher. I'm pretty good with grammar." The Commander said, hopefully joking. I cringed thinking about her teaching me.

"Wouldn't that be great." Lacy said, voice laced with sarcasm. She plucked a grape from her plate and popped it in her mouth.

"Do you guys have a boyfriend? girlfriend?" The Commander asked, wanting to know all the gossip.

"Haha, no." Everest said. Lacy seemed to perk up a little when Everest said that. Hmmm.

"I do." I said, quietly.

"Really?" almost everyone at the table expressed their surprise.

"Thanks, guys. I've been dating him for almost three years now." I said. Apparently they didn't expect me to have a boyfriend. That totally helped my low self-esteem.

"What's his name?" Everest asked.

"Calum Chase."
