Your Pov:
You looked up to be met with a set of chocolate brown eyes. It was Tony. He had always been like a father figure towards you. He was always there when you needed him, and you were so grateful for him. He was the only person in the tower you truly trusted with your whole being, except for Bucky and Loki.
You must have been standing there for awhile because you felt a hand on your shoulder, which was odd. Tony has never been a super touchy person, and hated almost all physical contact. You two were alike in that way. The only people you hugged around here were Bucky, Loki, occasionally Tony, and you only hugged Sam once. You both didn't like physical contact in a loving way because you simply weren't used to it. That's why Bucky was so surprised you hugged Steve earlier.
You looked up into Tony's eyes, and either it was written all over your face, or it was the look in your eyes, but he could tell you didn't want to talk. All you simply wanted was a hug.
He walked around the walker you were using, going around it on the left side, and cupped your cheeks. Tony could tell you really needed someone when you didn't flinch away, or when you leaned in to his palms. This made his eyes start to tear up.
He cautiously brought his arms around you and enveloped you in the most loving embrace. His right arm was around your shoulder, cradling your head. His left arm was secured around your lower back.
You were shocked he was hugging you at all, but you almost immediately wrapped your weak arms around his torso, putting some of your weight on him because you were exhausted. You started to sniffle, holding back tears, and his arms tightened around you, this was what you needed right now.
"I'm so so sorry I let this happen kid. I-It's all my fault" he choked out. Your grip tightened after hearing that. You couldn't believe he thought this was his fault. The only person to blame for all of this happening was Strucker, and he was dead.
"It's not your fault. Please don't say that. There is only one person to blame for this and we both know that its not you, dad" you said. You didn't even realize that you called him that, it just slipped out subconsciously. He hugged you tighter. You thought it was because he realized that it wasn't his fault.
She called me dad
You heard. 'Did I just read his thoughts? Is he comfortable with me calling him dad?' you thought. He must have felt you physically stiffen.
"You can call me dad, as long as I can call you my daughter." he said as he kissed the crown of your head. This made you so happy. You never really had a family, and never knew where you belonged so when he said you called him dad, you finally felt like you belonged somewhere.
You hugged for as long as you needed to, but Tony had to cut it short when he realized that you were starting to fall asleep. He felt your body start to slump and he knew he needed to get you to bed.
So, he swept you off your feet, literally. He was holding you bridal style and carried you off to your room. He knew you didn't want to sleep in that stuffy hospital room.
When he got into your room, he carefully set you down on the bed and pulled the comforter up to your shoulders. After he got you situated, he went into your bathroom and got your extra essential oil diffuser out of there, filled it up with water, and brought it over to your bedside table. He knew you always needed to sleep with it or else you would have nightmares. He also talked to your therapist after every session you had and asked how he could help you.
Tony acted like your dad without the title for so long. He always made sure you were alright. He also kept in touch with your therapist after sessions and between them. He knew how important mental health was and he knew you would never talk to him about it directly, so he talked to your therapist. He never pried and asked what you two talked about, he just always asked how he could help or if there was anything he could do.
He made his way back into your room and got it all set up. He knew you had to sleep with at least one night light on, and absolutely no noise, it kept your mind busy and kept you up. He was about to walk out of the room. He was looking in one last time and turned to leave.
"Could you stay please?" he heard. You felt awful for asking him, but you really didn't want to be alone again. He didn't hesitate to step back in your room and stay with you the rest of the night. He just needed to text Bruce to tell him he would be busy for the rest of the night.
As he made his way back into your room, he turned off your light and instead turned on your T.V. He grabbed headphones along the way. Your T.V. remote had a plug in option, so he thought he would take advantage of that while you were asleep. He turned the noise down to 0 and made his way to your bed. He didn't know if you wanted him to stay in your bed or the couch, so he chose the latter. If he sensed you were uncomfortable then he would easily get out and sit on the couch instead.
When he climbed into your bed you did not hesitate to cuddle up to him. You wrapped your arms around his torso and rested your head on his chest. Then instantly, you drifted off to sleep.
