When His Protection Is Stripped

A week later, the detectives call Andy and let him know that they needed to discuss the results from the tests. Both men will be going back on tour in another week. Remington is scared to leave Andy's side but he doesn't want to let his fans down. Depending on what the police have to say about the case, Andy might have to see William again. He isn't allowed to talk to him but how can he be in the same room as him without hurting him?

The detectives come over to Andy's house and sit the men down in the living room. 

"Okay, so here's what we have found so far," Annie, the lead investigator says. "We did a toxicology test and it showed up positive for GHB. It's a strong sedative that has even stronger effects when mixed with alcohol. It looks like you were given two doses of it. You are lucky you didn't end up in a coma and woke up." 

Remington looks at Andy worried. Andy holds his hand and rubs his knuckles, trying to give him some sort of peace. 

"Okay for the next part. William's DNA was found in the rape kit and also on the clothing you gave us. So these are positives towards presenting our case. The teeth marks matched his dental records so we are able to without a doubt say he is the one who was with you."

"So, then are there any negatives?" Andy asks nervously.

"Unfortunately, there are plenty. Remington, there are no struggle or self defense bruising or scars. William also said in his interview that it was completely consensual. You took the pills on your own. William said he is very known through his music for bdsm and that you knew, which would explain the bite and bruising marks all over you. He mentioned that Andy and another band mate had walked in on you two and you could have stopped it there. There is camera evidence from the club showing him and Remington walking into the room together, and when Andy went in. He also showed us a photo he took of you previously, in the middle of sex."

Remington looks at Andy, who is also confused. "What photo does he have? That was the first time I met him. I've never had sex with him before." 

"But you are sexually active with men, right? Are you sure he couldn't have been a one night stand from something prior?"

Andy squeezes Remington's hand, letting him know it's okay. Andy doesn't like how they are now treating Remington like a liar. 

"I, I just came out as gay about 6 months ago. The only man I have ever been with is Andy. There has never been another man."

The detective goes into the case file and shows him a print out of the photo. Remington and Andy recognize it instantly. It was the first photo Andy took of his boyfriend with cum dripping down his mouth.

Andy shakes his head. "This isn't with fucking William and he didn't take the photo. I did. I still have it on my phone." Remington rests his head in his hands in embarrassment. Andy rubs his back and shushes him, letting him know it's okay. "Look, I don't know what else we have to do to prove what happened. He had a fucking drug in his system that he has never taken before. He has the DNA in and on him with a bunch of bites on him. Now all of a sudden he has a stolen photo on his phone. Are you kidding me? Why are you blaming Remington when he was the one that was fucking raped?"

Annie sighs, and puts the photo away. "We don't want it to sound like we are victim blaming at all. This case is going to be hard to prove. You have a lot against you with visual proof. When we put this against a jury, it's going to go in their favor. Both of your reputations will be put on the line and it could cause a lot of damage to everyone's careers."

Remington lifts his head up and rests his chin on his hands. "So what do you suggest we do then?"

"Drop all charges."
