"You disgust me, Knight Evan Sealy," I repeated.
The person before me showed a baffled expression on his handsome face.
"Have I done something I offend you, Lady Charlotte?" Knight Evan asked.
I looked back into his innocent sea foam green colored yes and sharpened my stare.
"I have memories from the future," I said.
"The future...can Lady Charlotte can see the into the future like a clairvoyant?" Knight Evan asked with a perplexed expression.
"...I have lived through the future and have come back to the past. You have always been the same...Whether it be back then or now, I have always hated you. Your presence absolutely disgusts me. Beautiful knighthood, unfounded loyalty, and those untainted eyes are all so nauseating to look at," I said.
"...Did I do something wrong in the future you predicted, Lady Charlotte?" Knight Evan asked.
"I lost someone special to me twice because of you!" I said angrily.
The more I think about it, how could Arielle starve herself under my watch? In front of me, the Knight known as Evan Sealy was always perfectly obedient and would carry out any despicable order I asked of him without question despite his weak heart. Just what if this disobedient attitude was always there, hidden with a purpose of deceiving me?
Arielle's injuries would always heal faster than normal as a Ghoul. The only way that she would die is if she received an improper diet of a lack of human flesh. There is no way that she would have been able to find out a way to kill herself by starving herself, unless someone told her. He of all people knew that I could only resurrect Arielle once by sacrificing 20,000 souls. If she died once more, all that would be left would be an empty husk. It would align perfectly with his defiant attitude to destroy me at the peak of my happiness.
The Witch gave me back the memories that had plagued me the most, but what about the memories that occurred after Arielle's death? It occurred to me that there were certain people missing by my side when I went to find the Witch. One of those people was the man standing right before me.
Just how could I miss it? This man had planned against me and was able to conveniently stay by my side because of the gaps in my memories from the first timeline. It is only now after everything that I am able to think about those days clearly.
"Are you blaming me for something I have not done yet? I would never betray my Master especially if that person is you, Lady Charlotte!" Knight Evan said strongly.
You would betray your Master if they did such despicable acts like sacrificing thousands of lives just to revive my dead fiancée as I had done.
I was so stupid before. Now, I have realized the truth. Be it back then or now, I never once had any allies on my side.
"...You will betray me. The more I look at you, the more I feel like killing you," I said as I glared at him like trash.
"Lady Charlotte," he said as he slowly approached me.
"Get out of my sight! You are fired!" I yelled at him.
He suddenly stopped in his tracks and lowered his head.
"Regardless of what Lady Charlotte may think of me, please understand that I have been and will always be on your side, Lady Charlotte," Knight Evan said as he slowly left the room and closed the door behind him.
I lost all strength in my legs and fell to the ground.
"...Liar...Liar," I cried out softly.
I was so stupid before. Now, I have realized the truth. Be it back then or now, I never once had any allies on my side. Only Arielle...only Arielle was my one true friend.
