From Grace's memory, there were at least three grown adult men with weapons and three of us with two of us injured. Grace had a cut on her arm, while Jane sustained a large injury to her leg. Our route escape should be somewhere that the assailants are unaware of.
"...How about a fire escape?" Grace suggested.
"An outdoor staircase meant for escaping fires?" I asked.
That will work without any of us getting into harm.
"Yes, Lady Arielle suggested that they be made after a fire broke out in the kitchen the other day," Grace said. She suddenly went quiet and showed a disturbed face. "Isn't Lady Arielle on library duty today?"
My heart felt as if it slipped out of my chest and dropped to the ground.
"...Are you saying that Arielle is still in the building?" I asked.
"We were planning on going to the local convenience store after finishing up our art pieces and invited Lady Arielle," Jane said.
"She said that she could not go because of her library duties today...However, there is a chance that she has also gone back to the dorms already," Grace said.
"I cannot take that chance," I said as I quickly got up to my feet. "That person...I cannot have that person getting hurt again."
Grace grabbed my sleeve.
"I know that we would only hold you back...so let's split up. We will wait by the fire exit, while you go check up on Lady Arielle," Grace said as she put a metal crowbar in my hand.
"Grace...I..."
"We are leaving together. You cannot expect me to carry Jane's chubby self down the escape by myself," Grace said with a smile.
"Hey! I am just a little bloated," Jane said.
"Okay...I will be back before you know it. It will be hard lugging all of that extra meat by yourself," I said.
Grace and Jane began moving towards the fire exit that happened to be in the next classroom over and climbed through the window to reach the fire exit.
I went through a different window and began walking along the protruding ledges on the outside of the buildings. Even though it was small, there was about two feet of walking space. As long as I clung closely to the wall and kept moving, the fear of falling was not my main concern.
I soon reached the room right above the library and tied myself to a pole with some curtains I ripped up to make rope. I then leapt down to the floor below.
"...I...I'm gonna die!" I yelled.
Luckily, I fell through a window that just happened to be open just before the curtain ripped.
I got up and rubbed my bottom before looking around the library. Right there, I found Arielle napping with her head on the counter and laughed quietly to myself. It was almost hilarious how peacefully she slept while everything else was thrown in turmoil around her.
Even though we were in a dire situation, I could not help but feel reluctant at disturbing her sleep.
As if she could hear my thoughts, she slowly opened her eyes and began to use her mouth. I quickly covered her mouth with my hand and moved closer to whisper in her ears.
"Please do not be alarmed. We are in a dire situation in which three grown men are in the school with weapons," I whispered before removing my hand. "We will be leaving by a fire escape."
"...Okay," Arielle said as she nodded her head.
I held out my hand for her to grab, slightly hoping that she would not notice my trembling hands. She firmly grabbed my hand and nodded assuringly.
"I will definitely protect you again," I said quietly.
"Lady Charlotte, I might be able to assist you in finding a shortcut," Arielle said as she moved past me and began pulling me forward.
She soon stopped in place.
"...Oh? There are still people left in the school. Too bad they have seen our face," a man said as he reached his hand out towards Arielle's face.
I quickly pulled out the crowbar hidden underneath my clothes and used it to smack the man's hand.
"You bitch!" he screamed.
I quickly grabbed Arielle's hand and took off again.
"Lady Charlotte...Lady Charlotte...Charlotte!" Arielle screamed.
I soon stopped in place and turned to see Arielle bent over and breathing heavily.
"...I...I'm sorry...I did not meant to drag you so much," I said.
I did not account for Arielle's terrible lack of stamina.
"No, you did it only to save me. I am grateful," Arielle said.
"...We have gone too far from the fire escape we were supposed to meet Grace and Jane at. We might as well escape by ourselves and find help," I said.
"That is a lie..."
"Pardon?"
"You are intending to have me escape by myself and return to Grace and Jane, right?" Arielle asked.
"I only want to escape this madness...If you want to go back and save them, that is your loss. Honestly, what can you do by yourself? You have no weapon and are terribly weak...Even when that man tried to attack you, you simply stood frozen in one spot waiting for someone else to save you. How high handed...and entitled you are, Princess," I said sneeringly.
"Even if I am terribly weak, I should go help them since they are my friends," Arielle said.
"You are so terribly naive!" I screamed at her. "Always believing in the good side of people and disregarding yourself to make other people happy."
"...You have been watching me that closely?" Arielle asked.
I grabbed her wrist and began dragging her in the direction of the nearest exit.
"If anyone, I want you to live even if it means abandoning everything else," I said.
"Release me! Let go of me Charlotte...You are not that kind of person!" Arielle shouted.
"What do you know of me? My hopes or wishes? None of that! We are practically strangers in this life, however, I want to save you. To me, you have been and will always be the most important person in my life. That has not changed since back then or now," I said.
"Charlotte!"
I was suddenly grabbed and pulled into a man's embrace. He held his hand over my mouth and squeezed my wrist.
"E-Excuse me!" Arielle said politely as she drove her foot into the man's gonads.
Arielle and I watched the twitching man on the ground holding onto his privates and groaning in pain.
"...You did not have to excuse yourself before cutting off his posterity," I said.
"Would it have been rude if I did not do it beforehand?" Arielle asked.
I do not think anything would help gloss over the fact that Arielle drove her foot into this man's manhood without a second thought.
"Um...good job," I praised her as I took the crowbar and knocked the man unconscious on the back of his head.
I soon had Arielle help me tie the man's hands together with his belt and stuff him into an empty classroom. Arielle thought that it would be bad if he screamed for help, so she shoved the man's dirty sock into his mouth while unconscious.
I had a newfound respect for Arielle today...she had a frightening capability in abusing men without batting an eyelash...I respect that.
