A few days after Arielle's resurrection, I had called the Former Duke Maddox and Arielle's father over to my home in order to reintroduce him to his newly reanimated daughter.

"Arielle? How can this be?" Duke Maddox asked as he kneeled beside's Arielle's chair and examined her face. "How is this possible?"

"It is only possible with the Fairy blood running through her veins...This land won't let her die regardless of whether her soul is here or not," I explained.

"Arielle...Arielle, can you hear me?" Duke Maddox asked worriedly.

Arielle sat listlessly.

"...She cannot answer you yet," I said.

It will be a while before this hollow husk becomes fully human again.

"When can she answer us?" Duke Maddox asked. "Rather, how did you bring her back from the dead?"

"...10,000 souls," I said.

Duke Maddox stood up and grabbed me by my shoulders.

"...Black Magic? What have you done!" Duke Maddox said as he shook me.

"...We promised...to be together forever. I just did what I had to bring her back home," I said.

"Do you think my daughter will be happy knowing that you have sacrificed 10,000 people just to revive her as a living doll?" Duke Maddox asked.

"...It takes 10,000 souls to revive her body and another 10,000 souls to bring back her soul," I said.

"I miss Arielle as well but digging through her grave and killing people is not the answer. You are mad, Charlot," Duke Maddox said.

"You are right...I am mad. I am mad at this world that took Arielle away from me," I said.

Duke Maddox soon took out a dagger from his coat and walked towards Arielle.

"I will put my daughter out of her misery," Duke Maddox said.

"Stop...We are so close to reviving Arielle!" I said as I stood between him and Arielle.

"Get out of the way! My daughter is clearly suffering in Heaven! Wake up already. This is not Arielle. This is a doll you created to fill the void of your broken heart. Stop this nonsense and let her rest in peace already...This is what she would have wanted!" Duke Maddox shouted.

"Arielle is...Arielle..."

"This person is no longer the same person we both loved," Duke Maddox said as he pushed me aside.

"...What was all of my suffering for?" I asked as I covered my face with my hands.

"...F...Father...Char...Charlot," Arielle said.

Duke Maddox dropped the dagger onto the ground after having heard Arielle speak for the first time.

"Arielle...is it really you?" Duke Maddox asked.

"F...Father..."

"My God...it worked," I said in complete utter surprise.

"...How...How can I kill my own daughter now?" Duke Maddox asked as he fell to his knees and broke down in tears of anguish.

From that moment on, we decided to work together in order to finish collecting the required number of souls needed to bring back Arielle's soul. However, Duke Maddox was unable to see it through as he had died before Arielle could fully resurrect herself. Exactly thirty years after Arielle died, she had returned to me in her entirety.

"Charlot? Why are you so much older?" Arielle asked.

Arielle lost thirty years of memories while she was without her soul.
