Rhegitt's POV

Morning came and there was a loud knock on the door. We're still at the safe house. Good thing I already did my morning routine and changed into a fresh clothes.

When I opened the door of my room, I spotted Raja the same state as I am. Just woke up and yawning outside of her room.

"Who is it?" She asked. I shrugged and I walked downstairs. When I opened the door, Harold was outside.

"What's up?"

"Your mother asked me to drive her here. When she heard about Jai, she ordered me to take her here. Sorry."

I peeked behind him, my mother just came out from the Range Rover they were using. She walked to us.

"Where is she?"

"Wow, good morning too." I sarcastically greeted her. She just flicked my forehead.

"Mrs. Strife."

"Raja? You're here too?"

Oh great.

"Rhegitt why did you let her stay here? You could have bought her a condominium."

"At least here, I know she's safe."

"Dearest Raja, forgive my daughter for being rude for letting you stay here."

"I'm well accommodated here Ma'am."

Raja answered.

"Oh please, call me Frances. It's been a year since Rhegitt took you in. Consider yourself as family."

Raja blushed.

"Mom, I should have told you this sooner but I wanted to surprise you."

Mom looked at me, confused about what I'm talking about.

"Raja is now my daughter. The adoption papers were approved way back."

I heard my mother gasped. "Does this mean Raja is our first grandchild?!"

I nodded.

My mother got teary eyed. She walked passed me and turned to Raja, she caged my daughter in an embrace.

"Oh goodness! Daniel would be so happy!"

The sight was new to me, yet the feeling made my heart swell in happiness. Mom breaks the hug and turned to me.
"And when do you plan to tell us?"

"At Rad's wedding."

"Well, I'll keep this as a secret for now." She then faced Raja.

"Welcome to the Strife family dear one." She said. Raja blushed at what Mom said.

"Now, where is she?" She turned to me.

"Ghitt? Anong meron?"

We all turned our heads upstairs and saw Jai walking down. She already changed her clothes. The sight I'd love to see every morning, the first person I'd love to see before sleeping and after waking up.

"Is this her?"

I nodded when Mom asked. I walked towards Jai and whispered, "Sorry, I didn't knew she's coming."

Jai looked at me, without a hint of nervousness.

"Mom, this is Jai Mendez. Jai, this is Frances my mother."

"Pleasure to meet you Mrs. Strife." Jai turned into a professional almost immediately, and shook hands with my mother.

Wow! She knew how to carry herself. Atty. Rey taught her well.
