Thirty Eight

Rhegitt's POV

We visited the wake of Archie Gonzantine's father. I just showed up for the sake of being the Empress.

I walked towards Lord Archie, he's finally their familia's boss now. Tailing behind me are Harold and Akira.

"I had to do it." I told Archie and I heard Harold gasped.

"No worries Lady Rhegitt. He's not really my father. If you haven't had him killed him, I would have." Archie said in a low voice.

"He was a rotten man, he took me in, dressed me, feed me, but he also abused me. I'm grateful for what you did."

He offered his hand to me and I took it.

"I guess I'll have your word for the payment."

"Of course, my Lady."

We left him where he stood up and look for a seat. I know that everyone in the Empire are here.

They all offer their condolences.

"I heard you had Rad look for a donor." Akira whispered to me, once we found a seat.

I just nod.

"Can't wait to be a ninang." I chuckled slightly to what she said.

After a few minutes of staying and greeting people from the mafia, we finally took our leave.

I walked towards Archie again to tell him we're leaving. "I'll see you at the meeting." Archie nodded.

We walked down the aisle, but before we reached the door it suddenly opened. A guy appeared, wearing a black tux.

"Rhegitt Strife! You're going to die!" The guy pulled out his gun and aimed it at me. I heard a gunshot, and I heard screams around us, and the sound of panic. It was chaos.

"Rhegitt!"

I thought I was shot, but it wasn't me.

I looked around and saw Harold lying down the floor. He was bleeding. I heard another gunshots, it was coming behind us. I glanced behind us and Archie shot the guy, I looked back in front of us and there were a lot of bodyguards coming inside, securing the area.

"Harold!" Akira yelled. I immediately crouched and held Harold. My eyes got blurry when I saw the blood coming out of his chest. I quickly pressed his wound.

"No! No! Stay with me buddy!" I yelled at him.

"Stay awake Harold!"

"Help! Help us!" I heard Akira shouted.

I felt hot liquids streaming down on my face.

"Harold, stay with me alright?!"

"R-rhegitt..."

"Don't talk! Keep your strength!"

Our men eventually came in and helped Harold. There was an ambulance waiting outside the building. We immediately went inside, and the ride to the hospital felt like a blur. I saw my friend got shot. I am trembling right now. Scared, that one of my friends got hurt right before my eyes.

The nurses were taking care of him. I was crying so bad. My hands were bloody and I felt Akira grasped my shoulder.

"He'll be fine." She said.

I just nodded at her.

"Fight for me Harold! For Travis!" I said when he was slowly closing his eyes.

We reached the hospital and they immediately transfer Harold to the operating room. I was pacing back and forth outside the room while the operation is on going.
