Tony looked weak, tired, his face was pale and his hands were chained above his head. His feet could barely touch the ground.
"This isn't you." Tony coughs out, lifting his head up to look at his captor. "Steve, you gotta think straight. Please I-" His voice cuts off when the man who Tony had considered to be a friend punched him hard in the stomach. He spluttered and choked, there was nothing he could do in this position, he couldn't stand and he was hanging from his wrists.
"I am not Steve. I am Captain Hydra." The man says, grabbing Tony's chin and forcing him to look at his friend.
"Steve... why are you doing this?"
The man, who doesn't like the fact that he continued to call him 'Steve,' slaps him across the face before answering the question.
"The people here, they seem to think I give a shit about you. I don't. Maybe Steve did. If I have to kill you to prove that I don't care about you, I will." His tone is cold and harsh, but then it changes completely. "Tony. You love me, right?" He puts his hand gently on the side of his face, looking into his eyes and smiling.
Tony just stares, breath caught in his throat.
"Steve..." He's shocked about what happens next. He kissed him. Steve had kissed him. Tony had wanted this for so long, but not like this... Not like this.
Tony had loved him, but this was just a sick way of messing with his head. How could he do this to him?
Tony pulls away, breathing heavily before speaking again. "No... No...I- I..."
Captain Hydra grabs his neck forcefully, tightening his grip and watching happily as Tony starts to gasp.
"Steve loved you." The man says nonchalantly, "Why? I'm not sure. Who could ever love someone like you?" He let's go of Tony's throat and moves to the side of the room, where the chain that's connected to Tony's wrists is attached to the wall. He loosens it so that Tony ends up on the floor, his hands still above him, but his legs are resting on the ground.
Tony's never been so quiet before, usually he'd have some kind of smart comeback or a witty remark. But he was dead silent.
"Get on your knees, you don't deserve to look at me in any other position." Captain Hydra smirks and walks over to bend down beside him. "I gave you an order." He says angrily.
"I can't do this. Please... I can't. I..." Tears roll down Tony's cheeks as he twists his hands, trying to get out of the chains.
"Hey." The mans voice is caring and quiet again. "Don't cry." Steve moves Tony's hair from his eyes, caressing his face as the dark haired man beneath him begins to openly sob.
"Steve... I... I love you... please..." Tony drops his head in embarrassment and shame, only to have himself be pulled back up by his hair.
Steve looks him in the eyes, one hand holding his jaw and the other grabbing his hair and pulling his head back. "No one... No one loves you." He whispers, dropping his head and standing up, "see you later."No. This couldn't be happening. Tony was breaking. He had been through pain unimaginable, but he'd never been broken mentally before.
A string of pleads fall from Tony's mouth, mostly "please" and "no" on an endless repeat.
An hour goes by before Captain Hydra returns through the door, he grins at the sight in front of him. Tony's head is hanging, his hair covering his eyes, his arms hang limply above his head.
"You know..." Steve starts, moving closer to Tony, who lifts his head in fear, "I thought it would take much longer to get to you. I guess you love Steve more than I thought. You won't die, don't worry, you'll just stay here with me. Being with me forever. That's what you want isn't it?"
"This isn't you." Tony mutters under his breath, his eyes are red and puffy from the crying he had done.
"You are fucking adorable!" Captain Hydra smiles sadistically, "I'm starting to understand why we liked you."
"Let me go!" Tony yells, the chains making a loud noise as they bang against the wall. Steve walks over and sits down beside him, he wraps his arm around Tony's shoulder, pulling him in close.
"I thought you wanted this." Steve says, a fake sadness in his voice. He runs his fingers through Tony's hair and kisses him on the cheek.
"Stop it... please... I don't want this..." He whispers, squirming to try and get himself away from Steve's hands.
"Well, if you want to leave, you can. They know that I don't care about you. I think I'd like to keep you here for a while, I mean, I do love you, Tony."
"No you don't! Get away from me!" He shakes and pulls away, angering the man beside him. Steve stands up and moves towards the wall the chains connected to. He pulls it tight so that Tony's lifted up, he gets up, straining when the chains raise him so high that he can barely stand again.
"Look at me."
Tony keeps his eyes closed, shaking his head. Steve grabs him and kisses him again, he wipes his tears away from his eyes and speaks softly. "I'm sorry. Do you forgive me?"
Tony opens his eyes, breathing shakily from the kiss. Steve's eyes are so beautiful, innocent. They're nothing like the words that have come out of his mouth. Tony can't help but stare at them, wishing this would all stop.
"You... you don't. No... you don't mean it..."
"I do, Tony. I love you so much."
"Steve..."
"I mean it."
Tony's collapses, the only thing holding him up is the chains on his arms. He can't do this anymore.
"Look at me, Tony." Steve says, taking his face into his hands.
He chokes out a sob, looking up and then dropping his head again. The sincerity on his face is misleading. "Do you love me?"
"Yes... yes... Steve... I..."
Steve uses the back of his hand to hit him across the face, laughing at the victim he has in his hands.
"God! You're so pathetic. I wonder how many times I could play that card, I bet you'd fall for it another thousand times if I tried hard enough." Captain Hydra smirks, shaking off his hand that he used to hit Tony. "I was told you were a genius, Stark. And you're manipulated as easily as a child is."
Tony's nose is bleeding, it drips down onto his shirt, but that's the least of his problems. He can't go through this. He can't do this. His shoulders are on fire, but he can't keep his feet on the floor any longer.
"STOP IT!" He screams, letting his pain take over him. He feels himself drop down to his knees again, the chains are loosened so that he can move freely but can't reach the door.
"You can make this stop, Tony. Stand up and fight me." The villain says, leaning down towards him and ruffling his hair. Tony composes himself and stands up, legs shaky with nerves. He could fight him. He could punch him right now.
"Hit me." Steve stands closer to him, his arms at his side.
Tony looks up to face him, letting out a cry of sadness when he does. He can't do this.
"Come on!" Steve pushes him up against the wall, pinning his arms against it. "Fight me! You can leave this place! All you have to do is hit me!"
"I won't do it! Leave me alone!"
Tony won't fight him, instead he struggles and cries, shouting out in pain when Steve throws him to the ground.
"That's what I thought." He smiles, standing above him and chuckling when he tries to stand back up again. Steve kicks him in the stomach, nodding as Tony tries to get his breath back, he had knocked the wind from him.
Steve goes over to him and pins him to the floor, his hands holding Tony's down roughly. He leans closer to him and whispers in his ear, "You. Are. Nothing."
