Ballice's pov
I watch her run to the opposite sides in an utter gut wrenching shock.
Everyone is gawking at her diminishing figure as she runs and suddenly the rain starts pouring making the congregation a mess of chaos and confusions as they ran to find shelter in the buildings close by.
"Ballice let's go." I hand clutches my arm and I look down to find Chesca.
I don't know why this girl chose to come to Juilliard school but she has been a nightmare to me. Everywhere I go, she's there. She'll roll her eyes dramatically and say 'sweet coincidence '. That's pure bullshit, did I mention how I hate her? I hate even the way she smells when she gets closer to me, her perfume will make you puke your guts out.
And there's something about how she looks at me. I don't like every bit of it. Even the way she bats her eyelashes. Everything about her is just so not attractive.
I didn't notice that I have pulled my hand away from Chesca's filthy grip and I'm running towards the direction she ran to.
I know I've been nothing in these months we've apart, but an empty shell of a person. I poured all my anger and heartbreak into studying. That way, I was able to forget her even for a few seconds...just not entirely. But in a way, she always managed to creep into my head at least every single night and morning...even during the day heck.
The adrenaline rush in my body and the heavy pouring rain makes me run faster and as I ran, I come close to another one of our gates, I go through it but once I'm out of it, I don't know where to go.
Momentarily, my hands find their way into my hair and I start pulling it in frustration. I sit down by the metal bench outside the gate and let the rain wash all my frustrations away.
As I sit there, I can't help but revel at the fact that she was running away from me. I know that's for sure. The thought of it makes my heart clench more but before I give it another thought, a hand on back makes me jolt up.
She's standing there in all her glory. She's no longer the girl I used to know. She has lost some pounds from the look of it. As my eyes trail up her body, they stop at her face and I hesitate looking straight into her eyes.
Her hand comes up to my cheek, my eyes involuntarily meets hers. And I almost gasp out in surprise. That warm and inviting green colour of her eyes is no longer there. The colour that always gave me fuzzy feelings... The colour of her eyes is almost jungle and that scares me more.
"Please stop making this hard for me Ballice." She says in exasperation and I look a her dumbly.
"Making what hard for you?" I ask back as I stand up, my figure towering over hers.
"Why were you following me?" A drop of rain drops in her eye as she tries to look up at me making her blink away.
I sit down, pulling her down too on the metal bench. That way, she'll be able too look at me directly.
"And why were you running away?" I raise a brow.
She shrugs her shoulders. "Bally stop this please." Her voice comes out small, I almost miss it as the heavy rain drops pounds on the metal bench we're sitting on making weird loud sounds.
"Tell me why and I'll stop chasing you. I won't ever again. I'll let you be and I'll never ever bother you again."
I don't miss the way her eyes start welling up even under the rain.
"Just... st...stop..." She stutters blinking away.
She's now looking at her fingernails as if they're the most interesting things in the world at the moment.
