59. Tiora

After Ballice explains one two three things to our parents, we leave, me following him closely behind . I'm so like a robot. I don't know how I'm feeling.

He opens the passenger door for me to his brand new Maserati and once I settle on his comfy leather seats, I let out one prolonged sigh. He's about to tuck kellice on the back seats when I suddenly blurt, "No no! I'll carry her."

"She's heavy don't underestimate her. We'll be driving for an hour to the airport and then some two more to Tiora."  He unfolds.

I'm shocked. We're traveling for some 3 hours. I'm going to be on a plane? What the hell?? Before I can disclaim and refuse acknowledgement of traveling... Kellice stirs in his arms and suddenly raises her head.

"Noo! Where's mummy?" She starts wiggling in his arms.

"Wait, wait." He cries turning to look at me." You do know you can't even dare refuse to come with us. She's dangerous when she's mad."

I find myself chuckling at the red rimmed princess and when she sees me, she shimmies out of her dad's arms before crawling to me. Settling in my lap.

"Where are we going?" She asks innocently happiness evident on her face upon seeing me.

"Tiora." He answers her.

Her face falls.

"And mummy is coming with us." He confirms making her face brighten up all over again.

"Yaaaaaayyyyyy!" She lets out, turning to look at me. "Will you live with us now? Like Nira lives with her mom and dad?" That question throws me under the bus.

"Ummm..." I hum turning to look at the driver side, on Ballice who's already starting his engine. He just shrugs. "Baby I have School."

"You're not done?" Her brows quirk up.

"I just started." By now the drive has already started with me going to the said Tiora with nothing. Not even a cloth.

"Then I'll go with you to your school." She says excitedly. "And dad will come with us." Hearing that, Ballice makes a comical cough.

In the next three hours, I answer a thousand questions and also listen to stories about Nira who I'm very eager to meet in Tiora.

God how did Christmas change to this?.

One thing I get to know is that Kenneth is filthy rich, he even has planes...I mean a whole airline and that's how we got to Tiora. An isolated island but much closer to Chicago than it is to Hudson.

The house isn't that big like the Kenneth's mansion. It is a three bedroom house but so homey. It is very beautiful with so much green on the outside. Beautiful trees and a mowed lawn. Roses spotting across the trees here and there.

"Wow." I say as I finally sit down on kellice's bed in her room. It has a big princess bed at the centre and it is painted lilac purple, more of cape gooseberry with so many toys around. It reminds me of her Christmas gift I didn't remember giving her.

"You like my room mummy?" She asks sweetly.

"I love it." I answer breathlessly.

"I sleep here only during sun but during dark I sleep with daddy." She quips moving up and down on her comfy bed .

Ballice is leaning against the door and he just chuckles then expound, " She means she sleeps here during the day and at night she sleeps with me." I nod smiling at the innocent babygirl who is now kissing me all over.

"You're so young, dad has beards but you you're small."

"What?" I ask in astonishment.

"Nira's mother is biiiggg like this." She spreads her arms to show me then I burst out laughing getting her point.

When I get a hold of my self I ask," Do you want me to be thick like Nira's mother?"

"No, you're pwetty like this, I want you to be this small." This baby talks a lot .

"How old did you say is she again?" I turn to Ballice.

"Three next month but if we count by the day she was let into this world even though prematurely, 3 and some four months." Bally explains..I mean Ballice fucking Mendel.

In the next four hours it is just me and her on her bed. She plays with my hair, check me out, paint my toes, sing for me, tell me stories others from shows she has watched and I pay attention to every detail smiling. It's more than I could ever ask for. I still can't believe she's mine. When we later on take our meal that has been made by Ballice, she finally sleeps in my arms and take her to her bedroom and tuck her safely before I turn around and get startled by Ballice's silhouette by the door.

"You'll be so good in this. She even slept without even having me read her a night story." He say as he walks down the stairs, me following him closely behind after locking kellice's bedroom door.

"I guess you've been so great too. She's healthy and vibrant. Look at that. She talks a lot more than Bella and they're almost the same age."

"She wasn't that healthy at first. " He says as if it's nothing as he takes a seat by the fireplace adjusting the dog-iron. "Most of her life she has been on medication. She just stopped relying on medicine when she was around 2 years."

"What?" I say as I take the seat opposite the fireplace. "He looks up at me slightly before going back to inserting a log into the fire-dog.

"She's healthier than she can ever be now. And I'm happy she is. I used to be worried she might leave me any time. That's why I never wanted to tell you about her. The doctors call her a miraculous baby. No baby has ever been saved at four months. Her organs were not fully formed that's why it was too difficult for her...she stayed in the nursery under those tubes for almost a year."

What?" I ask again this time my heart pounding hard. "A year?"  Maybe I didn't hear him right.

"Not exactly one year. Months then, I said almost." He chuckles to make it light. But it really shouldn't be a light matter.

"Bally please." I beg and he swings his head to look at me as his breathing visibly changes. Oh I called him Bally. I  brush it off quickly. "Just tell me everything. Everything. Don't leave a word. Don't filter anything. I'll want the bluntness of it all. I want to know. Everything. Ugly and beautiful Please."

He nods just once. He doesn't need to be told twice.
