Cedric have heard many tales regarding Azkaban, especially its guards. The dementors were one of the worst creatures that ever roamed the Wizarding World. They fed on people happiness, only leaving depression and despair behind on its victims. His father been there once to aid the investigation of Black's escape. Took him two days to fully recover from the effect of visiting Azkaban, considering the ground was literally crawling with dementors.
He didn't have the slightest idea of why would such foul creature ever board the Hogwarts Express. Was Black aboard? Or it was just checking in for other prisoner who might've escape along with Black? He didn't know. But clearly, only having a single door separating them and the creature clearly scared the life out of them.
True to its reputation, the dementor outside made every inch of his skin hurt with the piercing cold. Not to mention, the great feeling of upset it caused him. As if Fred just snatched an exploding bon bons he just wanted to ate and throw it around the hall with George. The happiness in him was drained bit by bit, only to be replaced gradually by sad thoughts.
Cedric then instinctively looked down at Rey, who was already in the edge of sobbing. He didn't know what kind of sad thoughts that were invading his boyfriend's mind right now. But he knew for sure, that he had to be there for him, to comfort him. So he put a hand at the small of his back and pulled Rey closer to him.
Rey started to sob into his uniform. The boy gripped his shirt and robes in effort to held back some of his tears, but he just kept on sobbing. Cedric then started to stroked the boy's locks to comfort him.
"Hey it's okay..." He whispered.
"It'll go away soon. It'll go away soon." Cedric tried to soothe the boy.
He didn't know if he was trying to comfort Rey or himself too, but he didn't put it into further thought. Then suddenly, there was a sound of a train door flung open and a silvery-white light seeping in to their whereabouts. The train door was closed shut again, and the cold-dreading sensation was no more. But when he was still keeping Rey in his embrace, the toilet door was flung open.
Standing at the door, a man probably in the 30s stood. He held his wand, illuminating the darkened room they were in. Cedric was flustered when he realized the man, probably the new DADA professor, catched them in a rather compromising position. Who wouldn't immediately jump into that conclusion when they found two people share a single powder room together? Their messed up hairs, Cedric's messed up shirt, and Rey who was already halfway naked. Not to mention the bright dark spot that was forming on Rey's bare neck.
"Are you ok?" The man asked worrily.
"We're okay professor. It's just the dementor." Cedric answered for them, due to Rey who was still sobbing in his embrace.
"Is he- Why are you two-" The professor stammered as he shifted his attention to Rey.
Just as cue, the light inside started to flicker on one by one and the train started to move again.
"You better fix yourselves and get out. Prolly lock the door when you do so." The professor closed the door before leaving them alone again.
Cedric hurriedly locked the door again before he started to fix the two of them. He started off with Rey. He rearranged Rey's shoulder-long hair so that it won't stick out of place too much, buttoned up the boy's shirt, fastened the loosened tie, before finally help the boy back into his robe. After a few more seconds of fixing his hair and outfit, Cedric returned his attention to Rey, who was still hiccupping every once in a while.
"Oh no..." The boy muttered in a low voice.
"Hey... It's okay... the dementor's gone now." Cedric responsed while wiping the fading trails of tears on the boy's face.
