"Now, let's repeat what we've gone through. What is your strategy, Ced?" Rey asked the Hufflepuff, who was now being antsy.

"Not getting baked by the dragons?" The Prefect stared back at him.

"Well that's the main goal that each of us have to achieved." He gave his boyfriend a pointed look before adding on, "Survive."

"But I don't think my strategy will work..." The older boy pulled his hair in frustrations.

"What if the dragon will ignore my diversion and just chase me instead! I can't apparate just yet anyway." The Hufflepuff bit his nails to gain some emotional relieve, but Rey could tell that it didn't work at all.

"I can't even get my own strategy right yet, Cedric. But at least you can create your diversion already!"

"Yeah..." Cedric frowned before picking up one of the stones and transfigured it into a puppy.

"Just a poor little dog. What if it gets hurt?" The Hufflepuff frowned, pulling his plump lips into a thin line. The concern was prominent this time around.

"I bet it will be just fine." Rey reassured his boyfriend before petting the puppy a few times. The little guy loved it so much. As soon as the Hufflepuff let the puppy down, it bolted away from them, chasing his tail around.

"So, when the dragon gets distracted, you will try to get through it?"

"Yes... I suppose you can work on another strategy if mine didn't work too well for your dragon." The crease on Cedric's forehead deepened. Rey could see the gears inside his head turning around wildly, searching for a viable strategy for the two of them.

"Sure thing, Ced. But you have to make sure that you get proper opening to execute your plan, okay? Or else, you will be a skewered champion." Rey joked, trying to lightened the mood. This obviously worked, as the Hufflepuff snorted before letting out a faint laugh.

"Baked Hufflepuff: Champion Edition." Rey added, before falling down onto the ground. He laughed the hell out of himself, causing the Hufflepuff to pout.

"How about you? What kind of animal would you create to distract the dragon?" His boyfriend ignored his heaving breath.

"I don't know... I've been thinking about lion, but that would be laughable." He humored himself. Him transfiguring a lion would be pretty cool, but people would think Rey was too prideful of his house. "It will be cringe, don't you think? House pride and all...."

"Why would it be? Transfiguring a rock into a lion is hardly laughable, love." Cedric took his hand, and the pup yelped elatedly behind them.

"Besides, if they think it would be strange for someone to be proud of their house, perhaps they are in great need to mind their own business." Cedric pulled his hand before giving it a chaste kiss, prompting heat to creep up his face in a split second.

"Er... You might be right." Rey diverted his gaze before pulling his hand away. He then spotted the golden-haired puppy, and completely thankful for a chance to change their conversation. He realized just now that the puppy might be a golden retriever.

"But is the dog supposed to look at us that way?" He stared at the dog with pity, as it wagged his tail excitedly. The dog was clearly eager to spend the rest of the day with them. Or even forever, perhaps. But considering that the dog was created from transfiguration, Rey was not sure that the dog would be around for too long.

"I- No, I don't know." Cedric stared at the dog in bewilderment. Never in his twenty attempts beforehand, the dog that Cedric have transfigured into appeared to be this lively. It was as if this one was a real one, not a byproduct of magical transfiguration. Maybe the size of the dog have its own effect on the transfiguration process, but who knows exactly why?
