"All right, pretty boy. One last time yes?" He asked the Hufflepuff.

"Right, bring it on." Cedric prepared his stance.

"Three... two... One!" Rey exclaimed.

As soon as he muttered the needed incantation, a string of fire shot up from the end of his wand. The heat the flame emitted was felt on his fingertips, and for the sake of his boyfriend, Rey hoped that Cedric wouldn't fail to use the incantation they have practiced on. For a second, a roaring sound of fire reverberates around the room. It wasn't until when the fire slammed into the shield that Cedric have formed, that the roaring died down a little.

For obvious reasons, and his own conscience, Rey did not use the greek fire that he have been practicing on for the past couple of weeks. Because of the fire's erradic nature, along how hard it was to put it out, he must not use it on other people. Not to mention the fact that he couldn't properly control the fire just yet, the result of such conduct would be undesireable.

"I didn't get toasted!" The Hufflepuff exclaimed as he lowered his wand. The fire was gone, along with that shimmering golden light. It was quite easy to spot how Cedric was preening wildly.

"You faired quite well." Rey praised his boyfriend as the Hufflepuff rushed over to hug him tight.

"Well I have the best mentor." Cedric ruffled his hair repeatedly. It was such a wonder that his feet did not give him up, right then and there.

"Yeah..." He blissfully hissed before adding up, "But don't forget to practise the other one tomorrow. You know how big dragons' fire can be, ey?"

"Sure thing, little one." Cedric planted a kiss on his forehead.

"By the way, where is our little guy?" The Hufflepuff scanned around the grand stone room before looking at him questioningly.

"Right there, behind that tall stack of trunks. I don't want him to accidentally run out of his cage and then get toasted by the flame." He explained as he pointed towards one end of the room, that was protected by a tall wall of trunks. As soon as Rey was done with his explanation, The Hufflepuff muttered something along with 'lit' before rushed towards Max.

The two of them just finished their last training session for the upcoming first task, which would be conducted on the day after tomorrow. What an absolute jitter he was getting!

Rey have pushed his boyfriend to learn the defensive spells to protect him from the fires that every dragons would absolutely spit out. The defensive spells that Rey taught over was quite literal, as they would form a shining golden shield or a defensive bubble -the one that he never actually used before-. Even though it was rather hard for Cedric to use those two for the first time, it was safe to say that he could adequately protect himself already. There should be no roasted Diggory served this Thursday, and Rey was completely content for it.

"Ow... My sleepy pup..." Rey heard his boyfriend cooing, probably over a yawning Max. The two looked very much like a father and son duo. What a lucky person he was to see Cedric being all father figure to Max, right then and there.

"Was he sleeping?" He inquired towards the Hufflepuff, who was now cradlingMax close to his chest.

"Yes... He must have been bored." Cedric hummed as he stepped closer towards him.

At that moment, he could see how Max trusted the two of them so well. He fell asleep so deep, being all dead to the world. Anyone who didn't know him might be frantic if Max didn't answer their calls right away. Max was just a sleepy little guy. A cute sleepy little guy.

"Take him to bed then, no stop to the kitchen."

"Course, darling." Cedric planted a kiss on his forehead before adding on, "Let me take you back to the tower then."
