After ignoring the nosy comments made by Shunpike and trekking their way down to the beach, the two of them finally reached Holkham Beach. They entered the beach through the forest path, as it would lead towards the more desolate part of the beach. Cedric then lead them further west before finally settling down on the dry sands. The beach was beautiful. Just like how he remembered it from his visit two summers ago... Just like Rey.

"Let me guess," Rey asked him as he settled down the blankets for them. "You've been here before?"

"Yes, love. Me and my parents visited this beach two summers ago. It was beautiful, I think. So I thought you would like it." Cedric threw him a smile. Though deep down, he felt anxious at the prospect of his boyfriend didn't like the beach.

"No, I don't like it." Rey threw him an unimpressed expression.

"Well, we can always move somewhere else." His face fell, and his mouth was pursed. Although he suspects it came out more as of a sulking-pouty expression.

"I don't like it, Ced." The Gryffindor chuckled before drapping his arms around his neck. "I love it." Rey pulled him in for a brief kiss.

"You really do?" Cedric tried to read his boyfriend's expression. Altough it was quite difficult as he was too clouded with the rush of enthusiasm from his boyfriend's remark.

"Of course Ced. It's not like everyday we go to the beach together. Thank you." Rey beamed at him before settling down on the blanket.

The relief that Cedric felt was nameless. He couldn't care much if his time that he have spent on planning their date would become futile. He also couldn't care much if he had to beat his brain to death to figure out another alternative quickly. The only thing that he desired of was for Rey to be happy, nothing else. Rey's smile and laughter were everything in this world for him, even more valuable than all the galleons in the world.

Everybody could call him sappy all they want, but he wouldn't even bat an eye for them. He didn't care about their opinion regarding himself, as he was not into them. He was into the five foot three, blue-eyed, brown-haired, and Greek-nosed Gryffindor. Only him and him alone.

"Anyway, little one..." He sat down next to the Gryffindor before continuing, his lips quirked up a little. He definitely would be doused with a bucketful of faulty sarcasm. "Have you ever gone to a beach before?"

"Have I ever gone to a beach before?" Rey replied in his faulty sarcasm before laughing at his own voice.

Of course the boy couldn't fling sarcasm around like a boss. As far as Cedric aware of, the closest Rey ever to throw around words carelessly was when he was being bratty. A behaviour that he disliked off, yet to his demise... or pleasure, Rey always hurled it over his way every time they got all hot and bothered. Or maybe, Rey was just bratty in general. Cedric made a mental note to observes his boyfriend's behaviour further.

"Well we've gone to this island in Greek once, if I recall it right." Rey responsed after took control of his laughter.

"Oh really?" He handed out a cup of yoghurt for Rey.

"Yes, really! It doesn't really matter though. I'm not a big adventurer after all." Rey explained before asking for a spoon.

"So, let me guess. You prefer to have a date with a book?" Cedric took a bite onto his apple.

"Yes. I love to read."

"That, you did not need to tell me anymore. Your nose pretty much stucked in a book most of the time."

"But you like me reading a book to you."

"Of course, love. Your voice sounds like a lullaby."

"Sappy badger." That nickname never failed to make him chuckle.
