Silence embraced the atmosphere. Mistula kaming nagrorosaryo pero sa isip lamang inuusal ang dasal. We are sitting on the circular sofa here inside the living room. I have confirmed Ria and Ymson was belong with the plan and what I couldn't believe about is that Kiel was the mastermind of all of this.

I'm not mad because of that. I just can't believe they even think of inviting 'them' here. "Uhm, tita ano pong gusto n'yong inumin?" Ria slightly broke the awkwardness.

Mommy glanced at me first. Nagpalpitate ang kilay ko. Why, is she asking for my permission? Why does she have to pretend that she's all okay with me?

She smiled at my bestfriend,"Any drinks nalang, hija. Hindi naman kami choosy. Thank you!"

Iniwan kami ni Ria para magtungo sa kitchen. I saw Ymson and Kiel looked at each other and both nodded about something I don't know. Then naintindihan ko kung bakit sila nagtanguan nang ayain nila palabas ang dalawang batang kasama namin. I shifted on my seat. He glanced at me before they go, he gave me a reassuring smile.

Hindi naman ako fan ng ngiti pero ewan ko ba, kapag ngumungiti siya ay nawawala ang pag-aalala ko... parang sa ngiti niya lamang, lumalakas ulit ang loob ko. I wonder how his smile and smirk could be that affordable. Not so expensive but definitely effective.

Someone cleared his throat, it's tito Miguel. Kami na lamang apat nina mommy at ate ang naiwan. Bumalik ang awkwardness. Ate's beside me while we're facing our parents----her parents rather. She suddenly, chuckled in an awkward way.

"This is awkwardly suffocating!" She frowned jokingly.

I extremely agreed with her but I won't do the first move. Hell, that's never me. I'm aware it's my pride who's talking but to begin with, pride is the only thing left in me. Simula nang tanggalan nila ako ng kalayaan at ng karapatan, iyon nalang ang natira sa akin.

"Anak? Anak n'yo pa pala ako?" Mahina kong tugon. Her watery eyes stared at me, her nose reddened.

"Chacha.." ate called.

Tito Miguel bowed his head a bit.

"I'm sorry din, hija... I tolerated your mom and.. and I didn't treat you as my daughter even if we're not blood related I should have treated you right. I realized my mistakes and I.. I'm now regretting every bad thing we did to you. Mali ako nang nasa isip noon na hindi naman kita anak kaya hindi kita ituturing na anak, maling-mali... that's why I can understand if you won't forgive me.. I understand and I'm willing to wait.."
