Chapter 3: “I Feel Like Dancin”
The next morning I got up early. Jack was here, in the kitchen, his head in our fridge.
Jack, of course, heard me. “I can hear ya know.” He said.
“What do you want?” I asked him.
“Morning.” Jack smiled.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head. As I started to walk away, he grabbed my arms. Before I could turn around he quickly let go of my arm.
“Sorry.” He mumbled.
I turned around. “What?” I asked.
“Tell Alex we have rehearsal today.”
“Why can’t you tell him?” I asked.
“Because I don’t want to.” Jack said.
“Cause your lazy?” I asked.
Jack smiled. “I’m not lazy.”
“Yes you are Jack.”
“You wouldn’t know, you don’t spend time with me.” Jack said.
“Because I don’t like you.” I told him. “That’s why.”
“Then how come you’re always at rehearsal and when we’re in the studio, and you always come on tour with us?” Jack asked. “explain that.”
“Cause Alex is my brother and I am just supporting his career.” I told him then leaving the room. I could feel him smiling as I left.
I didn’t turn around, I kept walking to Alex’s room. “Get up!” I said shaking him.
Alex pulled his pillow over his head. “Stop yelling damnit.”
“Why is Jack still here?” I asked him.
“I don’t know. I don’t care either.” Alex said. “Close the curtains.” He said, holding his head in his hands.
“He keeps talking to me.” I told Alex.
“He talks all the time, what do you want me to do?” Alex asked.
“Make him leave me alone.” I said.
“He likes you, he’s not gonna listen to me.” Alex said. “Do we have Tylenol?” he asked.
“Yeah, in the kitchen.” I answered. “but doesn’t bother you that he likes me?” I asked.
“Not really. He doesn’t do anything about it.” Alex said, getting up.
“But I bet he thinks about doing things to me.” I told him.
Alex laughed at me. “I bet he does. But what do you want me to do? Listen to his thoughts?”
“Eww.”
“He’s a guy. I can’t do anything.”
“Eww, but why does he like me?” I asked him.
“I don’t, I ask him all the time. He finds you attractive. Why? I don’t know. I think you’re ugly.” Alex said.
I glared at him. “Thanks, you’re ugly too.” I told him.
“Actually, thousands of girls would tell you otherwise.” Alex smirked at me.
“Cause they’re blind.” I told him.
“Umm, no, they’re right.” Alex argued.
“I think we need a second opinion.” I told him.
