Shine A Light: Chapter 1

"Both Sides of the Story”

"He's on TV!" my friend screamed into to phone.

"Yeah, well, they are in a band," I answered.

"Yeah but why couldn't they just stay in the UK? Why did they just have to come back to the US?" she asked.

"Because they're famous."

"Wow, no shit Sherlock."

"Hey, don't get all mean with me," I scolded her.

"Sorry," Danielle said.

I sigh, "Danielle, I love you; I really do, but just get over Zayn."

"It’s not as easy as you think," she argued.

"I got over Louis," I told her. Ugh, the name I hated. Louis was and forever will be my ex-boyfriend. Complete and total jerk. Never, ever, ever date a musician. They'll just screw you over.

“Sure you did,” Danielle mumbled into the phone.

“Is that all you called me for? Cause if it is I have a date with the chocolate ice-cream in my freezer,” I said to her.

“Yeah,” She sighed.

“Alright, well-”

“Oh! I almost forgot!” She yelled.

“What?”

“Liam invited Kayla to see them this weekend,” Danielle explained.

“Liam? Kayla’s ex-boyfriend and best friend?” I asked. “What did she say?”

“Yes, yes, and yes.”

“She said yes?!” I yelled into the phone.

“Yes, she said yes,” She said calmly. “And she wants us to come with her…”

“No, no, absolutely not,” I told her. “I refuse to go. I’m not going. I can’t go.”

“But she wants us to go! It’s for Kayla!”

“But Louis is gonna be there!” I argued.

“I thought you were over him?” Danielle asked curiously.

“I am,” I said as a matter-of-a-factly.

Danielle laughed lightly, “So then why can’t you go? It’s not like you two are gonna be forced to talk about your feelings.”

“But-”

“Please, Bells?” She begged.

“But- I- he- Ugh!”

“Please, please, please, please?”

“Fine!” I said unwillingly. “I swear if he tries to talk to me or even look at me I’m leaving,” I told her.
