A/N: this was a request from @JJliu12345 for a baby motive ! basically kokichi is reverted back to a childlike state and shuichi has to help him

im sorry this took so long!!!! ive been really overwhelmed and stressed lately, but I hope you like it!

Okay.

This motive was...weird. To say the least.

Shuichi honestly didn't believe it when Kaito first came to his door and told him, but when he walked into the dining hall, seeing a crying Kokichi on the floor, it made more sense.

This was...really happening.

Kokichi had been turned into a small child.

His body was still the same, but his mind seemed to be very much altered. When he talked, he spoke in a childish voice, his words few and his voice soft. It would also make sense if he had only his childhood memories with him,  as he was seriously acting different, with his usual attitude lost.

But they didn't know too much about this. Monokuma had given them no information, besides his original statement that Kokichi would be acting like a child from now on.

"From now on"... It seemed unreasonable that he was permanently stuck this way. Perhaps, if no one hurt him like Monokuma was probably expecting, he would go back to normal.

Still, again, they didn't know anything.

Everyone seemed to be in a frenzy, confused on this whole situation. They were trying to find out what to do, how this happened, and who should take care of him.

It was chaotic and it surely wasn't making Kokichi feel better. His sobbing only increased and they weren't crocodile tears either, they looked too real.

It... hurt to see him like this. Kokichi might be a bit annoying and he might say weird things sometimes, but Shuichi never thought he deserved anything like this. To be trapped in a childlike mind state in a killing game, vulnerable in front of everyone, it must be scary and confusing.

He couldn't imagine how Kokichi feels right now.

So Shuichi, amongst all the noise, slowly approached him.

"Shu.." Kokichi whispered, his eyes wide.

Okay, so he knew Shuichi's name... That was an interesting new development. Maybe it wasn't exactly what Shuichi thought, maybe Kokichi's older/current memories were still there, just stuck deep down somewhere, suppressed by his childhood ones.

That...was even worse. Even more confusing and even scarier for the small boy.

"H-help" Kokichi whimpered, reaching out to tug on Shuichi's pant leg.

Help?

Well, that was alarming. Kokichi was clearly in a very fragile state as of currently, if he was asking for help, something must seriously be wrong.

Shuichi kneeled down and looked closer, noticing that Kokichi was almost shaking.

Truthfully, Shuichi didn't know what to do, how to help...he was just as confused as everyone else.

But he could tell the environment surely wasn't doing Kokichi any good. It was almost like as the loud voices continued, he became more and more afraid, closing in on himself and hugging himself close.

He clearly needed help, just like how he asked for. He needed to go to some place quiet, and have someone take care of him, at least a little bit and at least for a little while.
