A/N: this is about shuichi's anxiety,,,also it's post game :)
Shuichi could tell that Kokichi's addiction to sweets was getting a little out of hand.
Or...it wasn't?
He wasn't exactly sure.
Because ever since he woke up from the killing game, his anxiety had been heightened considerably. So he didn't know if his worries were unfounded or if this really was a big deal.
But he found himself worrying about everything. His anxiety had become a gigantic part of his life now, hindering his day and causing him to stay in his room most of the time. Little things would make him overthink, such as people giving him a slightly weird stare or a noise happening during the day that didn't usually happen.
And only one of the things making him overthink was how much sugar Kokichi ate.
In his heart, he knew it was okay, that it was Kokichi and he's eaten this much sugar, probably most of his life. It was no big deal, he was okay.
But it's not like Shuichi's anxiety would listen to reason. It never did.
Despite him knowing that everything was alright, he still found himself noting how much sugar Kokichi would eat in a day, about 2-3 bottles of soda, and some candy almost every 4 hours.
It was honestly ...a little impressive how many types of candy he found. He'd give some to Shuichi sometimes and he hadn't even heard of most of it. It was most likely because he didn't eat candy too much, it wasn't his favorite type of sweet. He more so preferred sweet drinks or cakes. And he only ate them in moderation. But Kokichi liked all types of sweets, no matter what it was.
His panta bottle collection was getting pretty extensive too. He had a wall in his room dedicated to just...panta.
...But as much as it was impressive, Shuichi couldn't help but worry. He's heard of the potential problems that could come from eating too much sugar. And on multiple occasions, he had looked up those consequences. The risks, the possible diseases...Some were deadly, and some were just extremely hindering.
He supposed the results he was getting weren't entirely accurate. Perhaps, they were dramatized.
That's what...everyone said, actually. It was a common thought shared by everyone who used the internet, that you can't always trust what it tells you when it comes to medical things.
But it didn't matter. Shuichi couldn't stop the anxiety he felt from hearing that too many sweets could cause a heart attack. Or a stroke.
And he couldn't stop thinking about finding Kokichi passed out one day, dead from a problem they didn't know he had.
Shuichi knew it was stupid, he knew it was, this amount of sugar wasn't going to hurt Kokichi. He was fine, it was all okay.
But despite what he knew, his mind still had him convinced that Kokichi was going to...die or at least get really hurt.
...He just really didn't want to lose him. After everything they've been through, it would be the worst sort of loss Shuichi would ever feel. He still had so much to tell him, he still had so many moments he wanted to share with him.
To lose him would be unthinkable.
And it wasn't the first time he's had anxiety over something like this.
