The Bad Batch (Star Wars X My Hero Academia)

Chapter Twenty One - Proving Grounds

As Jiro waited in her starting area, she began to formulate her plan against the Bad Batch. Soon enough, Jiro was released. Not wasting any time, Jiro began moving through the fake city. Suddenly, Jiro was ambushed by Wrecker. 

Wrecker: Boo!

Wrecker laughs as he grabs Jiro and begins throwing her around like a ragdoll. As Jiro attempts to attack Wrecker, Wrecker punches Jiro in the gut with enough force to take the breath off of Jiro. As Jiro writhes on the floor, Wrecker picks her up by the neck. 

Wrecker: Is that the best you got, Hero?!

As Jiro struggles to free herself, she comes up with an idea. She jams her Earphone Jack into Wrecker's helmet and channels her heartbeat into a high pitched sound attack which causes Wrecker to scream in pain. Seeing an opportunity, Jiro charges at the disoriented Wrecker uses her Earphone Jacks to general a blast of sound which blasts Wrecker against a wall. After taking Wrecker down, she binds Wrecker with handcuffs. As Jiro takes a moment to catch her breath, she is shot in the head. The force of the shot knocks her back a couple of feet. In the observation room, Class 1-A was shocked by this. 

Kaminari: Hey! That's a little extreme, don't you think?!

Yaoyorozu: Jiro's not moving! We need to....

Everyone watched as Jiro slowly got up. The shot left a big dent on the side of her helmet. Before she could fully process this, sniper shots were fired on her position. As she rushed to cover, she looked around to see Crosshair set up on a sniper's nest of a roof. 

Jiro: Damn! 

Knowing that the direct approach won't work, Jiro pulled out two seismic grenades. She hooked up her Earphone Jacks into the grenades and charges them. Once the grenades were primed, she chucks them at the building. As the grenades detonated, the supports of the building began to give way, forcing Crosshair to jump down from his sniper's nest. 

Jiro: Got you! 

Before Jiro could charge at Crosshair, Crosshair fires his 773 Firepuncher sniper rifle at Jiro, forcing her to take cover. As Crosshair fires on Jiro's position, he contacts the rest of the Bad Batch. 

Crosshair: I found the target. I got her pinned down. 

Tech(Communicator): I've got your position triangulated. We're heading your way right now. 

Crosshair: Copy. 

As Crosshair ends the call, he reloads his sniper rifle. 

Crosshair: Not bad in taking down Wrecker, but I'd chalk it down to luck. Luck runs out. 

Once Crosshair reloads his 773 Firepuncher sniper rifle, he continued firing om Jiro's position. As Jiro was pinned down by Crosshair, she pinned her Earphone Jacks to the ground and generates a small sonic wave which shakes the ground. The shaking makes it difficult for Crosshair to aim. Jiro then charges at Crosshair and sweeps his legs and follows through by pinning him to the ground. She then binds him with the handcuffs. Before she could take a minute to catch her breath, Hunter and Tech arrive. 

Hunter: Looks like our Hero's been busy. 

Without hesitation, Jiro grabs Crosshair's sniper rifle and fires at them while running into the damaged building. Meanwhile inside the observation room, everyone in Class 1-A was stunned at how Jiro was able to hold her own against the Bad Batch. 

Mina: Whoa! Look at her go! I've never seen Jiro fight like this!

Kirishima: She must've had some serious training from those guys!

Aizawa: Watch closely, everyone. I want you to take notes on how Jiro handles herself in this fight. 

All of Class 1-A watched as Jiro continued her fight with the Bad Batch. Back at the fight, Hunter and Tech follow Jiro into the building. Jiro quickly fires on Hunter and Tech pinning them. Tech uses his chart quirk to map out Jiro's position. 

Tech: I've identified several key structural weaknesses around the target! Focus fire on the....

Before Tech could finish his sentence, a shot is fired at the ceiling above Tech. A piece of debris hits Tech on the head, knocking him out. As Jiro continues firing on Hunter's position, Hunter exits out of cover with his hands raised. 

Hunter: Not bad, kid. You managed to take out three of us. Not bad for a rookie. 

Jiro: Make that four.

Hunter: I'm not so easy to take down. 

Without warning, Hunter grabbed a knife and threw it at Jiro, knocking the sniper rifle out of her hand. Hunter then tackles Jiro and pins her to the ground. 

Hunter: Not bad, Echo. Let's see how well you fight with one arm.

Hunter then proceeds to dislocate Jiro's shoulder. Jiro scream in pain as she wrestles free from Hunter. As Jiro falls back, she is quickly cornered by Hunter. 

Hunter: There's no where for you to run, kid. I'd stand down if I were you. 

Jiro: I still have....one last trick up my sleeve! 

Jiro then plugs her Earphone Jacks to the sound amplifying devices on her armor and channels a loud heartbeat onto Hunter. Hunter attempts to hold his position, but Jiro rushes in and lands a few punches on Hunter. As Hunter blocks Jiro's attack, Jiro manages to handcuff Hunter. Hunter then smirks. 

Hunter: Good job. 

With that, Jiro had won a hard fought victory against the Bad Batch. Hunter then resets Jiro's dislocated arm. After that, Jiro and the Bad Batch made their way to the observation room to evaluate their fight.
